Factory Finish

It’s a rare scene these days: automakers adorning their factory interiors with genuine wood dash accents. And, as the decades have passed, the amount of wood in the ultra-pricey dress-up packages that actually see production has gone down. We put our best manufacturers to the task of making sure no factory dash kit was light on wood. They diligently matched the genuine color and material to create a dash kit that seamlessly supplements the factory’s skimpy portion of grain or burl. These kits are made only for select vehicles.
What is a Dashboard Trim Kit?
Dash kits are decorative interior trim kits that are installed on top of your stock factory plastic pieces
such as center consoles, door trims, speedometer surround, overhead console etc.
There are currently three types of dash kits available on the market today: carbon fiber dashboard kits, molded dashboard kits, and wood dashboard kits.
Carbon Fiber Dash Kits

Ready. To. Race. That’s the very look our
Carbon Fiber Dash Kits accomplish. From genuine carbon fiber weave to dazzling Kevlar and glass patterns, these dash kits border on ultra-modern and being vastly ahead of their time. True to the look, these specialty dash kits are laser-cut to precision and fit as tight as an IRL racer in the corners. And, with high-tech 3M adhesive holding each piece of your kit in place, you can rocket to the redline without leaving a trail of die-cut shrapnel.
Molded Dash Kits

Our dash kit manufacturers make their simulated finishes from automotive-approved materials that complement your dash to perfection. Each
Molded Dash Kit starts with some of the deepest, richest wood grain, carbon fiber and brushed metal prints. Multiple layers of high-gloss protective laminate are then applied to the surface, virtually giving the grain print an extra dimension. Molded Dash Kits are available in low-profile flat dash kit designs or sensual molded versions.
Wood Dash Kits

Prepare for your vehicle to absolutely glow. AutoAnything’s genuine Wood Dash Kits feature premium pieces laser-cut from stately blocks of elegant rosewood, burled walnut, shimmering maple and more. Each genuine wood piece is carefully finished to color perfection and topped with deep laminate layers for a timeless limited edition look. The entire genuine
Wood Dash Kit is firmly anchored to your interior by the reputed grip of specialized 3M adhesives.
History of Dashboard Trim Kits:
In the "Old Days", the presence of genuine wood dash trim would distinguish British-made cars from their American counterparts. The accented wood dashboards of Jaguars and Bentleys always had that "Classy Look." In later years, wood dash kits became available in the United States but the method employed was labor intensive and costly. Artisans cut thin pieces of timber to certain shapes and then would hand stain each individual piece, rubbing and polishing until the finish was deep and rich. These wood dash panels were then fixed to the dash with screws and pins. This process caused wood accented dashboards to be a very expensive option, usually costing $1,000-$1,500, and generally offered only through new car dealerships. The breakthrough occurred when 3M developed a double-sided adhesive tape that was then used to affix each dash kit piece of wood or synthetic veneer to the dash. Not only was the installation time of wooden dashkits dramatically reduced, but the new process was so easy that any one could install a wood kit without professional assistance.
Today, wood dash kits are completely affordable and an easy do-it-yourself item.
A wood dash kit is just as classy and beautiful today as it was in the old days
thanks to the advances in the technology of wood dash kits.
Dash Kit Installation Instructions:
The following are the steps to correctly installing a wood dash kit:
- Check the fit and alignment of your dash kit pieces to make sure you have been sent the correct dash kit for your vehicle. Do not remove the red backing of your dash kit pieces at this time.
- Clean the surface of your dash with alcohol wipes. This insures the dash kits pieces will not have dust particles between the adhesive and the dashboard.
- If the temperature is below 70 degrees Fahrenheit we recommend heating the dash kit pieces with a hair dryer or heat gun. This makes the dash kit pieces more pliable and easier to install.
- Carefully apply the adhesion promoter to the dash kit pieces and apply the dash kit to the surface of your dash.
- When installing larger dash kit pieces, carefully position the dash kit piece in the correct place on your dash. Pull back top half and remove red dash piece liner from the middle back to the top and then remove the dash piece red liner and continue with the middle to the bottom. For smaller dash kit pieces, the entire dash piece red liner can be removed at once.
- To complete the installation of your dash kit pieces, firmly press each dash kit piece into the correct position on your dash.
- After installation of each dash kit piece is complete, use a soft cloth or sponge to wipe each dash kit piece.
