Dissipate

To cause something to spread thin, scatter and eventually vanish. In the case of a dash cover, heat is dissipated among the carpeted materials and absorbed. This reduces both heat and glare caused by the more reflective surface of your stock dash.

Needlepoint

A style of carpet where the fibers are cross-woven through the base material, much like needlepoint sewing art. This type of carpet weave is soft to the touch, though it's prominent feature is durability.

Radiating

To send out rays of heat, light or another energy. A stock dash surface radiates both heat and light far more than a covered dash surface, which absorbs both forms of energy better.

UV / Ultra Violet

Ultra violet light, which literally means beyond violet, is an electromagnetic wave of light that is invisible to the human eye, though can be seen by many birds, snakes and insects. The sun emits large amounts of UV radiation, which is mostly filtered out by our atmosphere. What does get through, though, is harmful to our skin and to our upholstery. It dries out the natural oils in leather, and it bleaches color out of vinyl and cloth upholstery.

Velour

A soft, velvet-like material with a high-nap that's used in many styles of upholstery and clothing. The look is rich and elegant, plus soft to the touch.
