Bugflector on 2003 Escape

"The turnaround from order to delivery was good - maybe 5 days. The Bugflector itself works great. Like a lot of people, I was a little nervous about attaching it with only 4 plastic mounts/screws, but it holds up and works perfectly. I've driven the highway, taken rural routes and have noticed a significant reduction in windshield bug splatter. In fact, I haven't had to clean my windshield since I installed it."

Installation

"The deflector was great, but the technique for installation was poor. Plastic screws with plastic inserts did not work well, had to purchase metal screws to bite in to plastic inserts to firmly secure the deflector."

"This solves my problem of trying to sell a vehicle with dents, chips and rust in the front! - Travelling a long commute on the highways of New England has greatly reduced my cars resale value until now. I finally have solved the problem of hood damage from rocks and road salt. Keeping the windshield clear of bugs helps too! - Thanks."

05 Express bugflector

"I picked up the new Express in April and already have several chips on the leading edge of the hood. Bought touch-up paint from a local shop, but couldn't get a Bugflector anywhere in Indy. Many on-line stores don't list the '05s. This site had it at competitive $s. Install was 5 min. Fit is dead on."

Miserable instalation

""Hardware" provided for the instalation of the deflector did not come close to fitting. Turned what should have been a simple 10 minute install into a two hour ordeal involving a trip to the parts house to buy stainless trim screws to put the thing on right. I am extremely disapointed with the hassle that I had to go through to get the deflector put on; much worse than the ones I've put on three other vehicles. The Bugflector people should be ashamed to even send their product out with such shoddy hardware and instructions. Worse than useless"

Warning - Cheap Product

"I have purchased bug deflectors for other vehicles in the past - but none of them were ever stuck on the hood with adhesive tape; nor did they come with additional little plastic bumpers to stick on the hood for when the wind pressure bumps the deflector onto the hood. This was a poor choice to purchase. A unit that screws to the underside of the hood and that has more tensile strength is a far superior product and worth a few dollars more. This was a waste of money. I doubt this brand could ever be sold in an automotive parts store where people could see it before they buy it."

Fit for Sienna

"I don't have anything real bad to say about the bugflector II. It came via UPS in an appropriate box and well protected from damage. The fit seems almost right, but stands away from the hood, to me, seems a little too far. But, that said, we took a trip from Seattle to San Francisco and back, after installing it. The curve of the shield very clearly helps protect the hood and windshield from bug splotches. In fact, many times we could actually watch the bugs follow the airflow right up and past the windshield. I give it 5 stars for function, but 3 or 4 for fit. Installation was easy with a drill and screw driver. It took about 10 minutes to install. 5 to find my son to help hold it and 5 to do the actual installation. It's definitely worth buying."

"I purchased the clear deflector. It was exceedingly easy to mount and almost unnoticable. My wife didn't infact notice it until I told her it was there. Her only critisim was that with our particular vehilce color, she thought the smoked would look better. Thanks again."
