    Works as described. Really like the behind the grill installation and the low profile. You paid for the chrome don't cover it up. Go ahead and get a nylon auto trim installation tool set (just a few bucks) and make the installation EASY!!!

    Everything was real easy to install,4 clamps and its on,Make sure you dont clamp to tight at fist make sure it is on evenly (Square).Once you are done with that tighten it down and she is finished with a look of Style.Many of compliments,makes me know I bought the right one for my truck,Go Stampede Vigiante..

    very happy. fixed nice and easy to install, just pell off plastic on 3m taping and stick on. also delivery was quick. Would recommend to anyone that desires one of these.

    Wind noise?

    I had an AVS bug deflector on my 2009 Chevy Silverado 1500 extended cab 4x4 pickup and the wind was deflected by the bug shield and hit the top of the windshield and made a very annoying whistling noise when driving highway speeds. I took it off and the noise disappeared. Does this Stampede Vigilante Premium VP Series Hood Protector cause the same problem as my AVS bug deflector???

    I don't think it's the scratching of the deflector that's in question. I believe it's more a question of whether or not the deflector will be torn off the truck as the car wash brushes pull on it as they pass by. Most car washes (unless they're touchless) warn that you shouldn't go through with after-market add-ons such as this. From what I've seen of the photos posted online the clips, tape, screws that hold these on seem pretty wimpy and I don't know that I'd trust it to stay attached through a brushed car wash.
