"I have an old truck, 1997 Chevy, still looks great except the very front of the hood was worn. To repaint the hood, $600, compared to $55, which covers exactly what I need. Product looks great and really dresses up the front of my truck. The 3M tape is VERY strong, so take your time positioning this before you take the protective film off the tape. I saw no need to use the screws provided, this is not going anywhere! The one thing I noticed though, at least on my truck, it stuck out about 3", which was fine, appearance wise, however it created a "shelf" for dirt, leaves and WATER...I drilled 3 holes on each side, not visible unless the hood is up or your standing right over it) to let water drain. (I wash my truck weekly). Other than that, which was my choice, it's great looking, easy installation, and, at a very reasonable price! Would highly recommend this product!" —Wayne S from Danbury, CT bought an AVS Bugflector II for a 1997 Chevy C/K 1500.
"This is my 2nd Vigilante hood protector. Fit is perfect, follows the nose of the hood beautifully. Instruction say to keep a 3/4 inch gap between the protector and the hood itself, but this will never happen. I have a 1/2 to 3/8" gap and this works just fine. Installs fast.
Instructions also say to NOT use power tools for installing, but again this will never happen, just exercise caution when installing.
cons:They provide Phillips head screws, and no extras in case you bust one. Oh well." —Kelly F from Livermore, CO bought a Stampede Vigilante Premium VP Series Hood Protectors for a 1997 Chevy C/K 1500.
