WeatherTech Stone & Bug Deflector Reviews

Solid, reliable product, fairly easy to install

Reviewed By John M (Lake Villa, IL) Reviewed for a 2008 Saturn Outlook —1/23/2009 4:27 AM

The Stone and Bug Deflector seems to be a well-made product and fit my Saturn Outlook perfectly. There were a few vague spots in the installation instructions, for example the best place to put the bump pads on your hood. It was also a little difficult to line up the deflector and get it in the right spot once you removed the adhesive tape backing. I had to peel the defector off a couple of times before I got it lined up right. I'd suggest you line it up and mark a couple of reference points before pulling of the backing and sticking it to your hood. If you have pre-drilled holes on the underside front-edge of your hood that match up with the deflector holes, then it will be a snap to install. My Saturn did not have that and I didn't feel like drilling holes in my hood lip. All in all, it's a good quality product, delivery was fast, and installation was good. A little pricey though.

Plastic srew inserts did not fit snug

Reviewed By Brian K (ORLANDO, FL) Reviewed for a 2015 Toyota Tundra —7/1/2015 5:57 PM

The inserts that go into the factory holes under the hood did not fit snugly in the holes. I put larger sheet metal screws in to solve the problem. Other than that, it works great. Have to make sure the top is where you want it and don't peel back 2 inches, just peel enough to get ahold of it as that tape is super sticky and hard to pull off if not in the right place while you fumble around with the screws lining up the holes.
