EGR Superguard Hood Shields Reviews

installed easily and looks good

Reviewed By Tim L (DULUTH, MN) Reviewed for a 2009 Toyota Matrix —4/1/2016 6:24 AM

Installation was fairly easy. At first the screw-hole inserts would not press into the holes in the underside of my hood. A trick in the cold climate where I live was to soften up the push-in plugs by pinching and squeezing them a bit with pliers before inserting them. Otherwise the installation process was easy. The EGR Superguard fits my vehicle perfectly when other manufacturers do not make a shield to fit my car. Thanks to Tony at AutoAnything for the excellent helpful advice.

Deflector actually works and is cool looking

Reviewed By Rocky H (Bradenton, FL) Reviewed for a 2006 Toyota Matrix —6/10/2008 8:53 PM

I live in Florida where the bugs are all apparently suicidal. So I got the deflector and not only does it look cool, installed in about 10 minutes with the right tools, but helped with keeping the bugs off the windshield too! Very nice. Shipping was great too. Thanks!

Pay Attention

Reviewed By Lyle B (AUSTIN, TX) Reviewed for a 2016 Ford F-150 —12/7/2016 5:57 AM

Nice looking and appears sturdy. It's quite dark. I thought the tint would be a bit lighter, but still okay. Pay attention to install details. Order for fastening is shield, female portion of fastener, hood gasket, screw/male portion of fastener. At first, I mistakenly installed the female fastener directly into the hood rather than through the shield and it wouldn't hold. Con: debris (leaves) collects between shield and hood.
