The included speaker emits a beeping noise when your sensors detect an object is within 8 ft of your vehicle. The sound increases in frequency until it becomes continuous when sensing an object within 1ft.

The install is pretty simple and forward. The appearance is factory. You can't tell this is an aftermarket product. Once installed, you'll wonder why it took you so long to get one. I'm installing this on all of my kids cars and mine.

Backup Sensor works good, the sensors only start beeping at around 6 feet and if your backing up fast it does not react fast enough. Also you have to keep all the ice and dirt from sensors or it will constantly beep while in reverse. Keep sensors clean and backup slow and the sensors will work great. (The only reason I back up a little fast is that I plow snow for a living and while plowing you back up a little fast!!)

I wanted to mount the control box in the cab of my dakota but the senser wires only reached to the middle of the bed(underside) so I tie wraped in place under the bed with the plastic bag it came in around it and it seems just fine. other than that the install was straightforward and fairly easy. warning; the directions need a lot of common sense!

Once installed, the alarm works like advertised - I'm very pleased with it. However, be careful with your installation planning. For some vehicles, installation may be straight forward, but not for me! I installed it on a 2011 Subaru Outback and got bit by concealed steel where the two center sensors were to be located. I needed to borrow a long 6" set of cobalt drill bits to drill through for the cables to pass because my standard drill set only went through the first steel layer of the bumper. (The included hole drill apparently is intended to only punch through the thin bumper plastic.) Also, I needed to glue the center sensors into the bumper since the included ring clips are designed to capture the sensors when mounted on a thin substrate, such as hollow plastic bumpers. Once the sensor problems got figured out and installed, I discovered that my brake lights are located on the hatch back instead of the rear car panels. That meant that I needed to figure out how to route the cables cleanly w/o interfering with the operation of the hatch door. I eventually got it all worked out, but it required more unplanned drilling, removal of the door hatch gasket to run the wires, and tapping into the correct brake light wire far away from the actual brake lights (you'll be OK by just following the appropriate wire striping, plus the black ground wire). Anyway, 6 hours later, all was dialed in and working exactly as designed. I hope you enjoy fixing things (I do), otherwise I would recommend taking to someone else to help you. I didn't try to contact tech support since I like to solve problems, and they may have well giving me all the necessary heads ups and advice required. Bottom line - system works great once installed, but be careful to avoid frustration - or worse, damaging your vehicle due to unforeseen obstacles. Before starting installation, I recommend that you call tech support anyway to see if they are aware of any special considerations for your particular vehicle. Good luck.

good product for the price, it works great after laying the items out for installation and seeing how to place everything, it is easy. wires going to the control box need to be longer. I am buying another for my pickup truck.

The system works well. However, the installation instructions were basically AWOL. Fortunately, there are enough people who've documented their intallation via pictures on the internet that you can piece together what needs to be done.

Once properly set-up the unit works great. However, the installation instructions are poor at best. Instructions are just drawings showing some procedure with little or no explanation! In addition, you have parts in the kit that are not illustrated or explained. You discover that the orientation of the bumper sensors are critical, but you find this out through trial and error when an improperly oriented sensor detects the ground continuously and not objects behind the vehicle! Installation would have been a lot easier and shorter with a good set of instructions.

This is my second system; first system was working for about 2 years. Then one snowy day on top of Donner summit someone slid into the back of the car. The leads on the 4 censers were about 2 foot longer on my first kit, so had to do a little adjusting. Over all very happy with the system.

With some planning it was easy to complete the installation on my 2009 F-150 Crew Cab. The door thresholds lift straight up and expose a wire conduit. I attached the speaker wire to the conduit as it runs all the way to the back the back of the truck (Driver's side) towards the rear of the cab - from underneath, exit through the drain plug. The most difficult is determining where to drill EXACTLY on the bumper. I used masking tape to make my measurement marks on. I think I took 2 hours to just measure things - this is a long term decision guys..... Tap where you are going to drill with a center punch & hammer so your bit does not wonder on you. Look at the placement of sensors on other trucks on the road to help you decide sensor location. OIL the bit while drilling - or it will not last especially on metal bumpers! Plan ahead do not drill into something behind the bumper! Secure all cables with tie-wraps. I had plenty of cable to reach the back of my truck & powered into the rear tail light by removing assembly and routing from below. Move the spare out of the way - you will be glad you did. I mounted my control box on a flat brace towards the far-back under side of the bed (rt side) close enough to hook to the rt. rear backup light (remove the tail light assy.)- Take your time. Good luck hope this helps!...........now for that rolling bed cover (saving my pennies)
