VDP Overhead Storage Shelf Reviews

Storage Shelf

Reviewed By Lee C (Norman, OK) Reviewed for a 1998 Ford F-150 —8/21/2015 5:47 AM

Visor attachment could be better and have a more cosmetic appearance.I had to drill hole to attach visor clip in center as there is no predrilled holes for this item. Visors also fold forward and not back (this was mentioned in advertisement) Also shelf could be a little wider as to fit closer to the windshield. Overall I was satisfied with my purchase and after installation was satisfied with the appearance. I would have paid a little more for a more custom fit and larger area.

Good Investment

Overall a great product. I put it up the first time in the dark and didn't have much problem. Probably can do it a lot quicker next time. It rained for four hours straight the next morning but only got a couple drops of water inside (around the door.) Because of the height once installed on my truck, getting the rain flap laid out over the top was a bit of a challenge and I never did get it positioned or rotated right so I could get it tied down properly to the truck. It still did it's job of keeping me dry but was obvious that it wasn't installed properly. I also highly recommend getting the custom sized air mattress that fits your truck. I did and found it very very comfortable. The only drawbacks I can think of with this set up are that when you're traveling, all your gear is exposed to the elements and when you get to camp, you really can't drive your truck because of the tent. Small issues though. I'd buy this item again.

Napier Backroadz Truck Tent Reviews

National Parks in the Backroadz Truck Tent

Reviewed By Richard S (Vista, CA) Reviewed for a 2004 Ford F-150 —9/21/2016 4:03 PM

Sturdy, well-made, and stands up under windy conditions. Lots of straps to hold down the tent, which takes some time to set up but it's up off the ground and my partner appreciated that. She also liked that she didn't have to exit the tent at night when she had to use the port-a-potty because there was so much room inside. Limit the amount of equipment you take since you will have to load and unload the gear each time you move to a new campsite. No driving once set up...walk or bike only.
