Intro-Tech Automotive Windshield Sun Shade Reviews

40 Degrees Cooler? Maybe 4.0.

Reviewed By Nick B (Las Cruces, NM) Reviewed for a 1996 Ford Thunderbird —5/27/2009 7:19 AM

Bought this sunshade for my 96 T-Bird. Huge window, huge dash, just begging for sun damage. Cheapy sun shades were too floppy, and would sag down off the window, resulting in little to no actual sun-shading. Cardboard ones were too stiff, and would flatten out over the window, AND fit around the mirror at the same time. Intro-Tech shade solves both probs, stiff enough to get a good solid hold on the window, flexible enough to fit easily over rear-view mirror, and of course it's a perfect fit for your year/make of car. I live in New Mexico, and it's the summer, so of course I have not noticed a 40 degree difference with this shade, but I also have 5 other windows that don't have sun shades (side and rear glass), so I'm not blaming this product. As far as protecting your dash/steering wheel/seats, there isn't a better product for this price. But it isn't a magical "make my car a refreshing 68 degrees after 3 hours in direct July sunlight," so don't be disappointed when it doesn't do just that.

Satisfied

Shade is somewhat smaller than window size but is adequate. Beats having to unfold and fold a paper shade.

Not bad but not perfect

Reviewed By William S (Las Vegas, NV) Reviewed for a 2003 Ford Thunderbird —8/8/2014 1:33 AM

I purchased one for my 2003 Thunderbird. If I push it down towards the base of the windshield like I did with my old 2007 Acura TL's Covercraft version, it covers 90% of the glass area but it doesn't stay up against the glass. I have to pull it up about an inch so it stays against the sun visors. It seems sturdy enough though.
