Thule CB-12 Tire Chains Reviews

I'd have bought these earlier if I'd known how useful they'd be

Reviewed By Wade S (Emory, VA) Reviewed for a 2008 Honda Fit —12/22/2010 7:45 AM

I bought these a month ago for my Honda Fit Sport. I live on a gravel road that can develop a thick layer of ice in the right conditions, and right now it's icy enough that only 4WD or vehicles with chains can get up the hill. With these chains on my car, I not only can climb the hill as well as the neighborhood Subarus, but I can descend the icy slope with much more confidence than an unchained vehicle because of the traction on my steering tires. The chains take about two minutes each for me to put on or remove, so I just pop them on when I get to my neighborhood and take them off as soon as I leave. I did have to repair one of the chain links, which broke after I had spun the tires in the gravel coming up my driveway, but that was easily done with pliers and the repair has held out.

Works for me

Reviewed By DAVE A (Fullerton, CA) Reviewed for a 2009 Honda Fit —1/28/2010 12:18 PM

Chains worked great. First use going to: Big Bear, CA and was able to install both sides in under 4minutes. Even the people around me at the chain up area were amazed how quickly I was back in my Honda Fit (Sport) and on my merry way. Traction rocked too (but it helps that I "know" how to drive in snow. Uninstalling was a breeze too. Thanks to Thule, would recommend to everyone who's looking to buy snow chains.

Easy to use

Reviewed By Mark R (CASTAIC, CA) Reviewed for a 2012 Mini Cooper —1/10/2015 7:57 PM

These chains were fast and easy to put on and remove. The only thing was that the extra 'tail' left over once you had secured them would sometimes come loose and tap against the inner wheel well with each rotation. It doesn't do any damage but was just annoying. The car drove smoothly with these chains compared to the large bulky ones. Recommended.
