Covercraft UVS100 Windshield Sun Shade Reviews

Custom fit=premium price, not premium material.

Reviewed By William B (Columbia, SC) Reviewed for a 2010 Volkswagen GTI —3/11/2012 3:24 PM

Overall this sun shade is about what I expected. The shade itself is much like you can find in a discount store, but custom fit to the car. It has taken some practice to get it installed (particularly the little "wings" at the lower corners). I also purchased the storage bag. It is definitely not sized to the sun shade (much larger than the shade), but it does the job. Sun shades for my car all seem too expensive, but having bitten the bullet, I am satisfied with the Covercraft.

Works about as well as expected

Reviewed By John G (Denver, CO) Reviewed for a 2010 Volkswagen GTI —7/6/2011 8:37 AM

Received the Ultimate Reflector Car sun shade a few days after ordering. Noticed that it is not exctly a custom shade as it was cut to fit other models (Golf, Jetta)and not really cut specifically for my 2010 GTI. That said, the fit is pretty good, except the pretty large area areound rear view mirror. It does seem to drop the temperature about 20 degrees, and the car does cool down faster once you turn the AC on. Overall, even at the price, seems like a pretty good deal.

Best out there

Reviewed By Andrew G (Palo Alto, CA) Reviewed for a 2010 Volkswagen GTI —11/15/2010 9:24 AM

This is a fine product but I do wish that it would be easier to install. Maybe I haven't figured it out yet but it always seems that I end up squashing the shade or bumping the rearview mirror. That must be a result of having the roll up storage as a previous fold up into panels shade did not have the mirror shift issue. Similarly, that panel version did not get squashed in the installation. It actually didn't take up that much more room than this folding product. If I had the option of getting a similar folding panel product, I would have purchased it instead.
