These go great with a 4.0 Jeep Cherokee!! Decided to replace current manifold after I found huge cracks which caused intermittent dying. Now my jeep has quite a bit more horse power in addition to a magnaflow exhaust and also has quit dying. I left the stock cat on and was a BREEZE to install. My jeep is perfect now.

So I got it because people said it made a nice sound difference. It got a tiny bit deeper. Not louder at all. If you want performance this does not give any. Now I gotta straightpipe my kota to make my friends think it actually is worth the money I spent.

I had to replace a stock manifold on my 4.7 Ram 1500 because it warped and popped two bolts. These headers were less expensive than the stock manifolds from the dealer. No header is easy to install compared to stock since tubes tend to get in the way, but these came with everything needed and fit with no mods to the stock exhaust. There is a noticeable performance gain (though not drastic). I now make it up one particular hill without having to downshift to maintain speed.

Item arrived right on time according to the estimated delivery date. I had to take them to a shop to put on as the bolts holding the old manifolds on were rusted in place. I've had them on for a week or so and can notice a deeper sound. I haven't noticed any increase in MPG, but then again I haven't been able to stay off the gas pedal with the new found power and torque. I already had a K&N cold air intake, magnaflow cat back and a banks automind programmer in stalled.

I'd grown accustomed to a highway best MPG of 14.1 with my 97 Tahoe. After adding these terrific headers and a cold air kit (I'd put a performance exhaust kit on 4 years ago) this past weekend blew my mind! . . . a highway-only 200 mile round-trip to Cape Cod: cruise control set at 67mph (it never downshifted once to climb a hill - even the Bourne Bridge) . . . with a gas top-off of 9.85 gallons as soon as I got off the highway my economy has jumped to 20.3 mpg!!! I have read the reviews, but have not found any reviews on the 2008 year model. Will Model # GP311S-C headers fit on my truck?

Is my dealer going to void my manufacturer warranty if I install these?
Answered by Elizabeth C. — Jul 06, 2012 12:27 PM
Though an unscrupulous dealer may claim that the warranty is void, you do have the law on your side. Magnuson Moss Warranty Act, your vehicle’s factory warranty is protected by law when you add aftermarket parts. Check it out here: Magnuson Moss Warranty Act.

Is there a significant difference in the underhood temperatures between stainless steel and ceramic coated headers? I've heard that some people weren't happy with the temps that their stainless headers gave them and I'm wondering if ceramic coated will make a noticable difference.
Answered by Nathan S. — Jul 06, 2012 8:52 AM 2008 GMC Sierra
Absolutely. The ceramic coating does a very good job at reducing underhood temperatures. As an additional benefit, headers also have the ceramic coating on the inside of the tubing which creates a smooth surface and further insulates the metal. Ceramic coated headers will make more power than traditional headers by utilizing thermal expansion. As the exhaust heat cannot efficiently disperse into the header tubing, it must expand out of the header which increases exhaust flow.

Would this product drop in or needs modification? What type of mod does it take?

These headers are a direct-fit design, with no welding or mods required. Once you select your vehicle, you can download the installation instructions and check out the process.

I have a 2003 dodge dakota with the 4.7L engine. In the title it reads "header". If I were to order this product would it come with both left and right side headers or is the price listed for one only?
Answered by Michael K. — Feb 07, 2012 10:43 AM
Hi Brian, yes, if your vehicle requires 2 headers, Gibson includes both.

Hi Randy, these headers are custom built for your specific vehicle, so if your truck requires two (as your C/K does), we'll send you two.
