"The thunder/side exit is a wonderfully mean sounding kit. The exit before the rear tire with those large pipes looks great and is something different from the standard dual rears. Fallow the directing in the kit. I made 3 cuts in the fac. pipe to get it out, 2 to get muffler out and 1 to make access to cat. flange easier to get at. Also cut fac. hangers to make it easier. Installation was super easy. 10 time easier than removing the factory and that wasn’t hard. The clamps in the kit are strong but get it welded. I used an impact gun and still got movement with the clamps. The local shop did the weld in 10 min and cost $35."

"I have laid out and inspected the Flowmaster Exhaust Systems - American Thunder that I purchased for my 1995 Chevy pick up, it looks to be an excellent fit, and the quality is obvious when looking at the parts but the system has not been installed yet (due to weather conditions.) The price was also excellent; you had the best price on the web, $100 less than your competitors! I will defiantly check your site first when looking for quality automotive parts at reasonable prices!"

"great sound. very slight improvement in milage. looks great. had to bend the driver side bracket a little just to make the exhaust hang evenly but other than that I am completely satisfied with this product and would recomend it to anyone. auto anything was great too. they offer free shipping and had it to me within a week. you can't beat that."

"I installed it on a 2008 dodge ram with the 5.7 hemi, Installation was very easy, took me 1 1/2 hours to remove the old one and install the new one and I have no mechanical skills what so ever, looks and sound great but my gas mileage went down like 2 miles per gallon. power gain not really noticeable."

"This exhaust system is not tacky loud! It sounds good, strong and clean. It is not that loud. Performance boost is definatly impressive. That is why I purchased this particular product. I wanted performance...not loud head turning noise. I had it professionally installed with welds. Looks great!! sounds good and runs like hell!"

"The Flowmaster exhaust was very easy to install (took longer to cut the stock exhaust off). The exhaust looks good and seems to be well built. I bought the 50 series for my 4.0L. It sounds good at idle, a little louder than stock i think. The sound gets alot better around 2,000 RPM (its not overly loud so if thats what your looking for, keep looking). The power delivery is very good and has certainly added some snap to my truck. Overall i'm happy with this system and would recommend it to others"

"The system was installed on a 1997 Chevy K1500 with regular cab and short bed. Overall, fit and match were very good. Installation instructions were excellent. A few areas could use slight improvement: (1) Muffler rear hanger; There was a three inch mismatch left to right, causing the rubber hanger to be at an excessive angle. (2) There was excessive gap between the I.D. / O.D. of muffler outputs and the tail pipes, necessitating a great deal of clamp tightening and peening of the metal in order to achieve a tight fit. (3) Tail pipe hangers; There was a two inch mismatch fore & aft, causing the rubber hangers to be at a 45 degree angle. None of this was insurmountable, and installation overall was pleasant. The hardest part was removing the factory flange nuts where the muffler attaches to the exhaust pipe. This is in no way Flowmaster's fault or responsibility though. However, it wouldn't hurt if new nuts were provided with the kit."

"American Thunder Super 40's are the way to go & it was everything I was hoping for. Me and a friend installed it just under 2 hours. The sound that I'm getting from it is that patented Mustang deep throaty sound that's turning heads. The delivery service was very fast to say the least. It was sitting on my porch days before it was suppose to be there. Thanks AutoAnything!!!"

"It looks nice. I got the rear exit system. I didn't put it on myself but I could have without much trouble. However, if you are looking for something loud, this isn't it. Even at RPMs above 5500, it doesn't roar as much as I would like. I have an american thunder system on my 2000 trans am, and it is much louder and sounds awesome. It could be the fact that I don't have headers,Hi-flow cats or even a 350 engine on my truck, but, if you can make little tuners whine like they do,I think they could build a better muffler for these trucks."

"I am pleased with the quality of the flowmaster exhaust. It didn't fit as well as it needed to, one pipe had too much bend in it and rubbed against the rear end until i put an extension in the pipe. Other the installation went well and the kit was pretty self explanatory but did come with good instructions. The only other thing that wasn't perfect was that i did have to take off my spare tire even though they said i wouldn't, that was only beacuse of the issue with the clearance of the rear end. Over all the quality was good and i love the flowmaster sound even if it wasn't quite as loud as i would have liked."

"Overall the exhaust is excellent. The muffler needs to be changed to the 40 series so its louder The 50 series is one of the quites that Flowmasters makes. So plan to order a $100 40 series if you want it loud..."

"System arrived very timely and was pretty easy to self install. Just make sure that you measure everything before making everything tight. One tail pipe stuck out farther than the other but an adjustment quickly fixed that. I love Flowmaster mufflers and they are the only performance mufflers that I buy. My 05' F-150 has them and my previous COBRA had them too. Looks great and sounds better. This is not the kit to buy if you want to sneak up on people. You WILL be heard and I love that!!!"
