"The old system came off fairly easily but my truck is only 2 years old so it has not had much time to rust. New one went on with minor trouble. Hardest thing to do was get the new pipe to clamp tight to the old collector. I recomend getting an exhaust crack and joint sealer before you start and apply it to all the pipes as you assemble it."

Gibson install for 07 Tahoe

Posted on 06/03/2007 by Blake F. - 2007 Chevy Tahoe (Glenburn,ME)

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful.

"Very easy install at only 45 minutes. Sounds a little more agressive than stock (nice tune), but with no drone inside. The only bad part is cutting out the stock exhaust. Can be done in one cut and most likely put back together with clamps and a connector if needed. Also, the stainless tip turned yellow after a week or so. Overall, a great system."

Easy Installation

0 of 1 people found the following review helpful.

"The Gibson Exhaust System sounds great; a low rumble. It's very easy to install. The most difficult aspect of the installation was removing a rusted bolt, which I actually sheared off so have some extras ready, which held a clamp together. Even with a generous application of WD-40, the bolt wouldn't budge. Otherwise, it was a breeze. Looks great; sounds great."

"I ordered the kit expecting to spend a weekend installing it since I had not been wrenching under a car for about 20 years. But 3 hours start to finish and the exhaust was installed. The sound is great, not too loud but noticable. Only complaint is that the fit is just a little off and burned a hole in the plastic bumper. No worries though and it looks great."

Fairly easy install and nice sound

Posted on 04/20/2007 by Jarett S. - 2007 Jeep Wrangler (Pasadena,CA)

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful.

"The gibson installed fairly easily on my 2007 Jeep Wrangler JK, though removing the rubber grommets from the stock exhaust was difficult (wear gloves!). The sound settled into a nice mellow growl over the first week, and when cruising at steady state it is quite quiet in the cab. There is a very slight improvement in performance when traveling at 75 mph."

Posted on 04/10/2007 by Wygal J. - 2006 Ford F-150 (Gresham,OR)

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.

"Installed on a '06 F-150 5.4 and it sounds nice. Not too loud though, so don't worry about your neighbors. Nice bottom end power. Compliments my K&N cold air intake. When removing the old system, loosen the pipe ahead and twist to unlock the rivet. If you have an FX4 with a large spare, you'll need to loosen it up(spare tire) and push it as far to the drivers side as it will go to install the new pipe. This wasn't in the instructions. System reccommended!"
