"Just like everyone has said getting the old one off was trouble, but putting the new one on was a piece of cake.Had to get it welded where the new and old join. The sound inside my truck at 1400-1600rpms. is not a 2 stated in the review of selling.Sounds great outside the truck."

"Actually I received the dual exhaust system that is just straight back but it still looks great and sounds great too. It was easy to install and I got one of my friends to help me weld for a more professional look. But yea, all my friends think its good and a lot of other truck drivers have turned heads to look. I'm loving it."

Gibson Swepy Side Catback Exhaust
Posted on 05/13/2006 by Jeff I. (Columbia,TN)
1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.
"This exhaust is made for our 95 GMC 1/2 ton 5.0 truck that now has 186,00 miles on it. Before driving it I observed the look which is close to stock. The lone thing that gives it away is the stainless exhaust tip which should hold up well and to my eyes is attractive!
The brochure that accompanied the system says that the power is not on top but more in the lower range 2000-4000 rpm. That to my feel is pretty correct. To me though it feels like it helped the low end more then the middle; the middle being where I would have preferred it! I should also mention that our truck also has a Hyper-tech chip in it. The mid range did however feel slighty stronger.
I'm not a big fan of loud exhaust, and to me this is another positive for this particular system. It is quiter then our old 186,000 mile exhaust and only slightly louder then the stock exhuast when the truck was new.
We got our Gibson exhuast dilivered to the house for $320.00. This already seems to be a good bang for the buck, and we haven't even broke it in good yet! I haven't gotten to measure the fuel economy as or this time.
If these features appeal to you; I highly recomend this well made exhaust system!"

"I do modifications to my trucks because I like for the truck to stand out. This exhaust's sound makes it stand out. For the swept side being the quietest exhaust system for this truck it is pretty loud. Hard to get used to at first, but now I am loving it! Bit loud in the cab still but easy to get used to. I've only put two tanks of gas since the install and haven't seen any fuel economy advantages, even with the K&N 77series intake. With a good saw the install is cake, drop the spare and the original is easy to remove. I give it a three because I expected more performance and economy than sound. Even still I have no regrets!"

"This exhaust kit was designed to fit perfectly into my 04 F150. I was very pleased with the little effort it took to install. all the hangers were in the right place and all the right size clamps were included. I completed it in under an hour. The two chrome tips are a great touch. The sound is perfect. just what I was looking for. Not "racey", but throaty when you step on it, and quiet when idling down the road. I installed this kit myself along with a cold air intake system. Together, they did improve my fuel mileage by 2 mpg. I drive mostly highway, but at higher speeds consistantly. I would definitely recommend this solution/upgrade to anyone."

"Before I purchased this system I carefully read and reread the reviews. My experience is that it was impossible to remove my stock muffler. After an hour of trying and alot of aches and pains, I gave up and took the truck to the muffler shop. They had to use a saw to cut out part and a torch to get the rest out. There is no way anyone without a machine shop could have removed that muffler. After that, the install was easy. The reviews that suggest that this system does not make much noise, inside or outside of the cab are not correct. Gibson says this system is rated a 2 when installed on a Ford. To my ears, it is an 8 out of 10 on the noise parade. The quality of the system appears good, but you should add $150-$200 to the price if you are not a mechanic, and do not select it if you are just looking for a little rumble."

"LIKE THE SOUND BUT THE INSTALL WAS LITTLE TRICK I HAD TO USE EXTRA PIECE OF THREE INCH EXHUAST TO MAKE WORK, BECAUSE IT WAS TO SHORT WHEN THEY SAY IN THE INSTRUCTIONS TOO CUT OFF 7 INCHES IS WRONG DO NOT CUT ANYTHING. I HAVE F150 EXT CAB SHORT BED. THE EXHAUST WAS TO SHORT. SO HAD TO GO GET ANOTHER PIECE TO MAKE IT WORK. OVER ALL IT WAS GOOD."

"I purchased the Gibson exhaust for my 97 Expedition w/5.4L. It was easy to install. Directions were quite easy to understand. The clamps could have been a little better quality, as in beefier. All and all, I love it. I have noticed an increase in snap from the throttle, still watching to see if mileage improves."

"With all of the exhaust manufactures claiming to be the right choice for my 2003 Ford 150, 5.4l, I was concerned about picking the best. I believe I achived my goal with the Gibson Super Truck. It may not have been the least expensive...but I feel it is worth every penny. No problems with the install...everything bolted up cleanly. The finish was OK out of the box...but I took a couple of hours to buff it out (it is not as polished as it appears in the picture). Sound and performance is as advertised....Outstanding product!! Also, a quick plug for AutoAnything. Good communications, product was well packaged, and FAST delivery. Expect additional orders from me soon!!"

"I installed the Gibson Dual Sport exhaust on my 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 Quab cab 4x4 with very little effort.
The old exhaust came off easy, and the new exhaust installed very quickly with the directions in the box and the fact that you make use of factory hangers on newer models. The exhaust has an excellent tone, and resonation in the cab is minimal. I cant say that I notice a great deal of performance increase, but it seems to handle hills, with my 33 foot camper trailer, better than before the install.
I recommend it to anyone that is looking for a bit of power increase and a smooth tone when you step down on the throttle. Overall the purchase and product was top quality. Thanks for a fine product , Chuck J. - Maine"
