"These are high quality pipes. They aren't as deep sounding as I thought they would be. So if you want a roar in your tailpipe these aren't the pipes for you.
They did improve exceleration, its a lot smoother then before. Overall power improvements is unnoticable thus far, as well as gas consumption. Most power improvement claims seen on Gibsons website is more then likely because of the headers not the pipes. But to be fair I haven't had a chance to race anyone on the highway to see if I've gotten any more torque at higher rpms that Gibson claims to give you.
The reason I'm not giving these pipes five stars is because of installation. The average joe will more than likely NOT be able to get his old pipes off by himself. You're probably going to have to have a professional install them which will put you back another $100 to $200 dollars.
On the bright side the installer did say these were the easiest pipes he's ever installed. Which does say something about Gibson's overall quality control.
Also Autoanything.com pricing for these pipes can't be beat. The installer asked how much I paid and said he could custom make some for me for the same price but at no way near the same quality level of these Gibson pipes.
Overall I'm happy with my purchase.

"The difference can be heard. the tone is much better from OEM. I can also feel the extra gain in acceleration. This is in combination upgrade with a K&N filter and bigger throttle body. The gain is not tremendous, but enough to be felt and heard."

"I am very happy with my Gibson side swept exhaust. The exhaust looks great and it gives my truck a more aggressive tone that makes it sound like it has more under the hood. The sound level is perfect; it is louder and better sounding than the stock exhaust but not loud enough to be annoying. I have a four cylinder, the engine revs easier, and I feel a bit more power. Given the size of the engine the power gain is reasonable. It makes the truck more fun to drive."

"The installation was a breeze. The hardest part is the factory rubber hangers. Use I used dish soap and they slide off fairly easy. I enjoy the sound. Gave it a nice throaty sound, mainly when your into the throttle and no louder at cruise in the cab. Not to sure about an increase in gas mileage. It did perk it up in all RPM ranges. I would recommended and use this product again."

"This exhaust system installed quickly. Everything lined up just right. The only problems were the bolts on my old exhaust were rusted, so I had to get new ones. Sounds great, little more deeper sound than stock. Definitly adds more MPG to your vehicle. There was also a noticeable amount in power. I would recommend this exhaust to anyone."

"Sounds bad ass and looks very original. Really grew more and more on me. The interior noise was more than expected and much more than my old rear exit dual system, you get used to it though. The WI and MI winter is tainting the finish on the tips in a real hurry. Overall, a very good system."

"I have to say I just bought a new Dodge Ram and had gthe Gibson Exhaust put on. The truck sounds awesome! It has such deep rich sound which is not over-bearing. The truck growls like a lion. When I drive by people know when I am approaching them before I well reach them! I love it the exhaust! Thanks for making such a superior product. This is my second exhaust from Gibson and I will never buy anything else"

Great Sound, Increase Power, Very Easy Installation, No Milage I

"Everything with the installation of these pipes were perfect. The sound is what I expected and I did notice a increase in power. I was a little disappointed there was not even a slight increase in gas milage. I also installed a K&N air intake and Hypertec programer on My 1500HD with a 6.0 liter engine. Overall The pipes werer worth the investment."

An Upgrade, Too Easy To Believe...

"I purchased this product for my 2004 Nissan Titan, and can not believe the ease of installation, and benefits applied. It took me 10 minutes to take out the factory pipes, and about 30 to 45 mins. to install. My friends, who were spectating by the way, swore I was done in a half an hour. With a few adjustments, I would have to say it took me about an hour and a half. Benefits? Well, the list is long... Looks? Oh yeah. Sound? OH YEAH! Miliage? OH HELL YEAH! Power? If you're driving, WATCH-OUT! if a passenger, bring extra underware and HOLD-ON!!! Seriously, you are going to LOVE it. I have owned a lot of 60's and 70's cars and trucks, and put in a lot of wrench time. But, this is my first "new" vehicle, and can't believe the simple upgrades for power and fuel efficientcy. Earlier, I had purchased a K&N FIPK from AUTO ANYTHING, and Gibson exhuast makes a great marriage! Again, you will LOVE it! Enjoy, thanks Auto Anything..."

V6 Sport Trac performance
Posted on 12/31/2005 by Marc A. - 2003 Ford Explorer (Oklahoma City,OK)
0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
"This was coupled with several intake performance mods & really woke them up. I liked the fact that the exhaust is quiet during idle yet provides a deep, powerful sounding growl under acceleration. The only reason for not receiving 5 stars was the fit of the head pipe on the factory donut was not square, the back of the muffler required swedging to insert the tailpipe & the instructions didn't mention that the installation was tons easier if the rear shock was unbolted on the lower end. All other fit & quality was very good. Working by myself, the installation was just under an hour & a half even with the trip to have the muffler swedged.
Sounds Great & definately improved the mid range & top end performance. Next mod is the Explorer Express supercharger."

"Installation was a bit more time consuming than I had anticipated. The instructions were sketchy at best. The quality of the componetnts were as advertised. There was a noticable increase in the performance and acceleration. I haven't checked my milage to see if there was a improvement.
I have recommended Autoanything to a friend and Gibson's cat back system."
