"This is my first purchase from auto anything, and the whole transaction was excellent! First off my converter got here so fast, it got here the day it was shipped out! The quality is great and it's a great price for a direct fit! I've got a 1990 toyota celica. My dad installed this converter fast and easily, no modifications! I'm not sure why so many people said they had to make modifications, perhaps it was not a direct fit for their vehicles! This is the part that came up for my make and model car, I highly doubt this exact part would come up for so many makes and models! One person said they got it for their SUV, i find it hard to believe a big SUV would have the same exact converter as my little '90 celica coupe! I took my car to get smogged on Friday and it passed, I wasn't worried at all! Very happy with this product and I'm sure it will last for a long time!"

NOT a direct fit, too loud

"The price was good on the converter, but the return elbow on the side of the converter was too short to reach the line. I had to cut the pipe off the old converter and weld it to the new elbow. ALso had to slot the front slip fitting because it was too large to clamp down on my y pipe for a nice fit. Makes a loud resonating sound inside the car. I guess you get what you pay for."

Magnaflow Catalytic for Volvo 240 Wagon

"This catalytic was bought for a 1993 Volvo 240 wagon. It is a California OBDII require catalytic to meet the new standard. The car passed smog with flying colors for the first time in six years. The fit was almost perfect with only an adapter needing to be welded to the new unit to extend it 4 more inches. Don't know why it is short but I don't care because the price was right, and the car will now be able to be kept for a much longer time than originally thought. Thanks AutoAnything."

"Over all nice welds, strong thick steel. Quite a small cathalitic. THe exhaust smells quite a bit, compared to the SUV Cathalitic I had originaly installed. Over all good fit, except for the use of the dremmel to grind down the inside pipe to make room for the OEM downpipe flance desigh with a bit of pipe sticking out, made to fit inside the cats flange."

"I purchased the cat converter because my old one was so messed up and broken it was making a horrible noise... this one is legal in california, fixed my problem, were sort of easy to install, and sound great! (sort of easy to install because some of my bolts were rusted and the old cat had the clamp I needed on one side welded onto it, but we got it off and new one on, 1994 pontiac firebird v6) this site is where I'm gonna get my exhaust and intake as well! =D"

"this is a great catalytic converter that takes about 45 min installation with a couple of tools. I bought it for my 2002 honda accord 4 cylinder.The only problem i found was the catalytic converter did not have the 4 holes to screw the catalytic converter cover from the factory. Other than that my car is running very smooth. fuel saving when up to 400 plus on a full gas tank"

"I installed the cat in five minutes and smoged my truck a week later (in socal) and they said it passed like it was a new truck! But it doesn't include the nuts and bolts($3) or gaskets ($10) to mount it. My old cat got stolen so I didn't have any of this stuff."

Good replacement for stock

"My car failed smog and due to the new California regulations I was having a hell of a time finding a replacement. This cat (available here for a steal when I ordered mine!) did the job quite nicely, let me pass smog, and I think I've gained a few HP to boot. I'd recommend this to anyone frustrated by the new CA emissions laws."

Works Great, Reasonably Priced, Easy Install

"Since the new California Air Resources Board law went into effect in January 2009, very few catalytic converters are legal in California anymore. As an owner of an old pre-ODB I 1991 Miata, choices were extremely limited. At the time of this review, only this Magnaflow Direct-Fit 36000 series Catalytic Converter (and Universal Fit) could be found for purchase online. One other vendor was selling this direct-fit model for $550. AutoAnything's price was less than half that. Installation of the direct-fit model was very simple. You simply remove 4 bolts, take the old one out, and re-attach this new one with those 4 bolts and you're done. I was able to pass CA SMOG after failing with my old cat. This model does not come with any gaskets, but should you need replacements for those, you can get them at Kragen or other auto retailer for about $3 apiece."
