Headers, x-pipes and cat-back systems ramp up performance in your ride, but clogged catalytic converters in the middle of the system act as a power-robbing bottleneck. Uncork the horsepower genie with high-flow Magnaflow Catalytic Converters - 49 State Legal. These converters are made of ultra-tough stainless steel with a honeycomb pattern of smog-removing precious metals.
Most replacements out there are just that—a replacement that puts your ride right back in the restrictive, sluggish boat. By increasing exhaust flow, Magnaflow Catalytic Converters - 49 State Legal allow the rest of your performance mods to work to their full potential. And, by increasing the filtering surface area, these cats reduce emissions just like your factory converters.
To show Magnaflow Catalytic Converters are the clear choice for replacing your old catalytic converters, a 5-year, 50,000-mile external and a 2-year 25,000-mile internal warranty are offered.

Luckily I had the cat-back upgraded at the same time because the direct fit magnaflow did Not reach all the back to where the resonator started. Its a good thing I also replaced both O2 sensors as well since it would be hell doing it with the cat in place. On a good note my car ry ns great!

This Catalytic Convertor was shipped with the understanding it was a "bolt-on" for my car. Not true. In addition to the money spent for product and shipping, I had to spend an additional $75.00 to have a shop cut and re-weld it to make it fit. Seems to be working OK, and the OBDII error code is gone. If you buy one, don't trust that it is a true "bolt-on". Mine was NOT.

slightly shorter than original part. The rear fitting to muffler pipe is smaller than original part so had to use a liquid gasket. Also the converter rattles agaist fram of truck.

What is the difference between "OEM Grade" and "Standard Grade"?
Answered by Nathan S. — Apr 23, 2013 7:50 AM
Hi, OEM Grade converters are specially formulated with a heavier wash coat and loaded with twice the amount of precious metals (platinum, palladium, rhodium) to provide a much stronger coverage. OEM Grade is recommended for vehicles that have: • High Mileage • History of Check Engine Lights • Gross Polluters • California Emissions Equipment Outside of California

I have a 2007 Kia Sportage v6. I need the front exhaust manifold. I keep seeing drivers side and passenger side. Which one is it? It's a tranverse engine. There is no drivers/passenger side! Dennis
Answered by Nathan S. — Apr 09, 2013 8:33 AM
Hi Dennis, The front of the engine points towards the drivers side of the Kia, making the manifold closest to the front bumper the passenger side unit.

Hi, Unfortunately, a 49-state legal accessory will not be legal in California. You need a 50-state/CARB legal Magnaflow converter.

will i pass california inspections? Are you a california legal company for replacements parts? I have a sl model 1.8
Answered by Nathan S. — Jan 21, 2013 8:57 AM
Hi, It looks like we don't offer a California legal exhaust components for your Versa at this time. You can sign up for our email list and we can notify you when we offer new products and promotions. What you're looking for is a catalytic converter that's CARB certified. What this means is the emissions part was testing according to California Air Resources Boards standards and passed, at which point the part is assigned a CARB executive order (E.O) number making it smog legal in states that go by CARB standards like California. A company must test each product design individually and it's quite an expensive process, so it's not uncommon to see something like a catalytic converter that works perfectly, yet not be CARB legal. Trying to smog your car with non-CARB exempt parts on your car in a state that uses CARB standards will result in your car failing its smog check.

Hey Bob, all the cats meet Federal EPA emissions standards; however, only select models meet CARB emission standards. If yours says it does meet CARB, then it does. The model refered to in the other question did not.

Hey, I’m looking for some info. the vehicle is a 97 Ford Windstar gl 3.8l and I want to know about the catalytic converter.
Answered by Elizabeth C. — Jun 08, 2012 10:48 AM
Thank you for your inquiry about a catalytic converter for your Windstar. This is the correct part for 3.8 V6-equipped Windstars with federal emissions for use on vehicles not registered in the state of California. This is a direct fit part that makes installation easier since it will bolt right on instead of having to have it welded in. It cannot be shipped to California. They ship out within just a few days of ordering. Thank you.

Do the direct fit converters have the same flow rate as the universals?
Answered by Michael K. — Mar 09, 2012 8:15 AM
The two are essentially the same as far as flow, the main difference is in the mounting. The direct-fits are designed to bolt in place of your factory cat, the universals are designed for aftermarket set ups. We do however, recommend professional installation for both types.

Hi Josue, once you select your vehicle, a message will appear that tells you whether the part number meets Federal and/or CARB emissions standards. Your part number meets both, so yes, it is legal for use in all 50 states.
