Received in short amount of time. Product was packaged with all required gaskets and new bolts for lower collector. One lower collector bolt required shortening to prevent contacting header before tightening. Installed header allowed good access to all mounting bolts except one, could only reach with open end wrench, unable to use torque wrench. Intake manifold requires removal allowing excellent opportunity to inspect fuel injector tips and clean intake runners. This was also a good time to replace a broken motor mount that was found with everything out of the way. This header was installed on a 1992 Jeep Cherokee with 275,298 miles. Throttle response and torque has improved.

Excellent price and a quality product. Without breaking the bank, a header that looks good and was an easy install with the proper fit. Quick delivery a plus as existing header went south just days before.

These headers have added to the power and ease for pulling hills and acceleration. Still checking mileage, on my 4.0L 6cyl. engine so far appears to have improved (was getting 17-18mpg, now looks like 20mpg) I'll a better idea after my next fill-up. Installation required a little bit of modification to the wider bases between the first and second and the fifth and sixth exhaust ports. The intake manifold for my fuel injection system would not fit between the slightly wider base flange (than the original manifold) metal. I ground away from the inside of each of those ports, approximately 3/32", which was a minor inconvience extending the installation time by about 45 minutes. Knowing in advance will reduce that time significantly.

These are a very good replacement for my cracked factory header. Instalation took about 4-1/2 hours and instructions were good but not great.

I buoght this header and was Pleased when it arrived. Shipping was quick and the header itself seems to be very good quality. I took it to my local exhaust shop who has done several other vehicles for me. He got it installed but not without grinding on the underside of my intake mannafold. Was said to be oem replacement but was visibly larger than the stock unit. Now that it is installed it seems to be fine. Sound and performance are both good.

Great Replacement Part

I purchased the unpolished stainless steel version. I tested it with a magnet and the material was definitely stainless and the welds looked very good. In design it looks very similar to the BANKS version at a fraction of the cost. Bolted right up and came with the new intake/exhaust gasket. I had to use the old flange studs because the new bolts were too long, but they fit just fine. Shipped from the factory in a timely manner as AutoAnything said it would. I liked the service I received and I'm happy with the replacement part. Two thumbs up on this one.

Rugged Ridge Header - 03 Rubicon 4.0L

I purchase the Rugged Ridge header to replace my Banks Torque Tube which developed a bad unrepairable leak in the junction of 3 tubes and Banks would not replace it as it was purchased through a dealer that went out of business (Banks no more!). The rugged Ridge welds are superior to the old one particularly in the troublesome tube junctions. All tubes and bends are identical to Banks and mounting flange is same thickness. Checking it on a flat table showed that the mounting surface is truer than the Banks as well. Only negative is that the welds are so heavy on the inside of the tubes to the flange that it restricts exhaust flow, negating much of the performance gains of a header versus the original manifold. I ported the openings quite a bit for better flow. Since it is about half the price and better constructed the Rugged Ridge header is a deal.
