Had a Banks Monster Exhaust on the truck. Excellent exhaust system but too loud when pulling travel trailer. Was able to use existing Banks pipes with this Flowmaster muffler. Toned down quite a bit but still sounds great. Gas mileage improved from 13 mpg average to 14.5 mpg average. Probably due to increase in back pressure. Hammering sound with Banks muffler is gone. Runs much smoother.

Almost stock sound, but gives you that flowmaster growl when you step down on the gas. Yje only down side is that it is really heavy, 40lbs. Other than that I'll give it 5 stars.

I had the Flowmaster 70 Series Big Block II Muffler put on my 2004 Chevy Tahoe in hopes of better gas mileage. After two tanks of gas I am presently totally disappointed. My mileage went from 17mpg to 13mpg. Presently I would not recommend this product to anyone.

The perfect size to replace the original muffler. The installation required some minor modifications just as noted in the product description. The 2.5 inch diameter is about an 1/8th of an inch too big for the stock exhaust pipe; but I resolved by cutting slits along the length of the the inlet and outlet pipes. This allowed the clamps to compress around the smaller exhaust pipe. Also had my mechanic weld the joints after installation. Very happy with the overall experience!
