JBA Performance Exhaust Part #40-1411 Customer Reviews

I have installed quite a few exhaust systems and the jba system does seem to fit together quite well. At first start up the exhaust has a nice mellow tone to it and mellows out to just slightly louder than stock. When cruising down the road it's a nice deep mellow tone and not over bearing to your ears. My all terrain tires are actually louder. When ya do get on the throttle the exhaust does let you know its there especially in the upper rpm range but not so loud as to kill your ears.

We were looking for a subtle tone and quality exhaust system for the Misses truck. This JBA is the perfect choice for her. Not to loud, not to much drone, no rasp, yet this exhaust lets you know there is a nice growl throughout the rpm range. Trucks performance and mileage has improved.

I had an exhaust shop do the install but it looks and sounds great. Better then stock but not too loud and minimal drone. I don't have any numbers yet but I hope to see a small gain with mpg's. Shop guy was impressed with the quality.

I chose this exhaust for my truck after doing a lot of research. Autoanything had the best price and shipped very quickly. The system was received without damage. I knew it would require some modifications to fit correctly as I have a crew cab long bed and Jba doesn't make a kit for my specific truck. This exhaust sounds good, not too raspy at all. Idle is a little louder than stock and produces very little drone while driving. I'm satisfied with the sound and smoother throttle response.

Coupled with a Cold Air Intake and a Bully Dog programmer, this exhaust definitely improves top-end horsepower but not much low end torque. My biggest disappointment is volume and the sound note. It is way too loud (I cannot emphasize enough how annoyingly loud it is) and it makes this 4.0L truck sound more like a little 4-cylinder race car than a real truck. I would NOT purchase again simply because of the volume and wrong sound note.

Nice upgrade, good Y pipe design, all stainless with nice mellow sound. Good improvement in power with 1 mpg better fuel economy.

Easy to install! All hangers lined up perfect. Had to flair muffler to fit over pipe because muffler pipe diamiter was to small. also had to weld tail pipe to axle pipe because tail pipe was to large. Not very loud but flow is great. Slightly deaper tone but not that noticeable.

OK.. Pros: Great pipe design. 2.5" on a v6 is perfect, Banks going 3" is foolish you loose presure. Great finish, Stainless under 400.00 can't be beat. Definate Performance game out the box. I have superchips, highflow cats, intake as well so you get much more out of a system with all the air componenets working together. Cons: The directoins/ppl say its super easy/quick. On a brand new system with zero rust sure. But if your truck has over 50k miles, expect a long install. Rust ruins exhaust systems so I torched off the old nuts, torched the Studs on the cat's, then drilled them out. That was the majority of my install time. It wasn't hard but time consuming. Also some of the nuts on the factory vibration hangers needed a torch too. I didnt disasemble my system either I torched the pipe and took it off in 3 pieces. Other thoughts, I boutgh this for the pipes. I didnt use a JBA muffler, I have a custom spinetech muffler in my setup which sound amazingly better.

Just a little cutting to make it fit . Otherwise nice clean install ,,opted to weld slip joints instead of using clamps.. overall nice sound and appearance..

Nice exhaust for the money! I replaced my rusted out Banks exhaust with the JBA. I did notice a slight performance loss, quieter exhaust tone , and a cheesey lookn crome tip. The chrome tip on the banks was much nicer...but that's about it!
