I am very happy with my PaceSetter Exhaust System. It was easy to install and fit my 87 Toyota 4X4 very good with only having to cut a short piece off of the straight pipe. The only complaint I have is the system requires two clamps to install the S pipe and only one was supplied with it. I bought one at the parts store for a couple bucks. The system looks and sounds pretty good too.

Exhaust system is of decent quality for the money but did not fit the truck without modification. Had to cut the ext pipe to the cat, bend the mounting brackets on the muffler 2 inches, and relocate the hanger bracket for the tailpipe. Exhaust is barely louder than stock and did not notice any power increase. Chrome tailpipe is cool and it was cheaper than a Toyota exhaust. Not bad if you have patience for the install.

Seriously? Why bother?

Within 10 minutes of running the engine after installing the full system (headers and exhaust) the black heat protection layer on the headers peeled off. Seriously. If you have an extended cab, this exhaust system will be too short as with my '92 toyota pickup. Overall, pretty crappy. Had to do a lot of welding.

Pacesetter missed by a little bit??

I purchased a whole exhaust system from two different vendors. The pacesetter tfx exhaust and the pacesetter header kit. The piece of pipe after the header was not bent the right way for my application and had to be modified to fit. The tfx exhaust did not need modification but the fit is a little rough for the truck to get into place. The header had to be dimpled to clear the bellhousing in two places. It seems they made this kit for universal fit and it would be better if they offered several kits more specific to different trucks of the same type. The welds and bends were good just that the bends were off enough to cause difficulty in installation. Someone without better than average automotive skills would have had a very difficult time with this installation.
