I initially considered the Flowmaster American Thunder Series direct replacement muffler for my 2015 Ram (5.7 V8), but the prospect of paying well over $300 for a 50 Series with some extra pipe for direct replacement just didn't make sense. I decided to go with a stainless Super 40 Series (Part#8530452), which I purchased via Auto Anything for $93. Installation at my local muffler shop was $80. The result: an awesome throaty sound with minimal cabin drone. Oh yeah, it cost me under $200, too!

Sounds great, sounds deep and mean like a truck should but not overly loud. Only thing is that there is a noticeable drone around 1700rpm although that could be just on my application.

I put this on my 2011 Ram 1500 and it put a throatier sound but not too much louder than stock. It is not that noticible in the cabin which is nice. I cannot tell you how much of a difference i felt as far as power due to other mods i installed but i love the sound of my truck now.

Shipped very fast i literally got an email saying it was shipped and a txtfrom my wife that it was delivered at nearly the same time. Noticeable better gas mileage i had the same muffler on my last gmc truck and will continue to use super 40 mufflers

I had this muffler installed so installation was easy. The sound is perfect! Not to loud but noticeable compared to the stock muffler. The only thing I've noticed was at low rpm's, the sound has a very low tone. I think this has to do with the fact that it is a performance muffler which works better and sounds better at higher rpm's. Low rpm's like 1000 to 1200 rpm's there is a difference in sound. Besides that its a great muffler and great price. Installed on a 2013 Dodge Ram 1500 with the 5.7L

I had originally bought the American thunder kit from flowmaster for my truck. But the 50 series muffler wasn't giving me the sound I wanted. So I swapped it for the super 40 for better sound. It gave me just that and much better top end. Just a great product. I have been paid several compliments about how my truck sounds now. Definitely worthy of the title "American Thunder" now. Buyer beware, you will need about 16-18 inches of 3 inch piping to make this work.
