1500 ltz, everything went together great but after 6 months the tips discolored and are getting rust spots. I live in the northwest and we had a mild winter, no snow or salt on the roads. I used metal cleaner (eagle one) but the tips are still a yellowish color. The sound is really good, but at times can get pretty loud in the cab, right about the 2krpm.

I have had the gibson extreme dual exhaust on my 2007 4.8L Crewcab Silverado LS for about a month now and could not be much happier. It was exactly what I was looking for a agressive rumble but not overly loud. Notices instant performance gains after bolting this baby on which only took 40 minutes (with air saw). Great product only issues I have had has been after bajaing across a pasture and doing dounts one of the clamps came loose and i was running stright pipes for a day way to noisy and im hald deaf already graet product and autoanything is by far the cheapest place i found this exhaust system.

I spent many hours looking at exhaust systems. I even got to hear other brands on trucks like mine. I am so very happy I chose gibson. The ease of installion is exactly what they say. And as far as the look and sound spectacular. But the most important is this exhaust is designed for the 4cyl mode. when i heard others it was very anoying in cab the gibson in not. If you have a gmc this is what you are looking for a little deep growl but not obnoxious. thank you gibson family

It was a little louder than I would have liked, but not by much. I also expected my Chevy 5.3 to sound a little wimpy, but it sounds great. I just remember certain mufflers on a small block Chevy in the past would sound weak, but this sounds great. It's funny how they sell a dual rear exit system, and a "Dual Extreme" system as two different items. They are not. There are pipes that go out the muffler and over the axle, and then point at an angle toward the corner of the bed. Then some exit pipes that go out that the tips clamp on. These exit pipes are bent at a 45 degree angle, and you can turn them to exit behind the tires, or go straight out the back under the bumper. It's the same system, and it's the same price. I haven't had it long enough to check mileage, but there is some definite low end power improvement. I'm going for an air intake box next to get it to breathe better. Overall, I like it!

I was worried about the sound either being to loud or not loud enough. It was just right. I paid a muffler shop $65.00 to install it. They had no problems. I am in the process of checking the gas mileage to see if I gain any.
