Borla ATAK for 2015 F150

I love the burbles when downshifting. It burbles even in Automatic. In 3rd and 4th gear it burbles continues, which is even cooler. Since there is no muffler, and just a little resonator at the front, it is a little loud during start up. During the mornings for the first start up of the day, it is really loud and poppy. My neighbors really appreciated, so I would have to put in gear immediately to keep the popping to a minimum. No Drone in cab, so it is perfect. Really fun to drive and exciting.

I ordered this particular Borla exhaust because it was the only one I found for my F150 with SI/DO with dual tips exiting from behind the PAX tire, and because of the online reviews with the Borla product.Removal of the old system and installation of the new was relatively easy considering I did it myself(2 people would make the install quite easy). It basically took about 2.5 hours.Everything lined up perfectly. I would advise removing the exhaust hangers from the truck which is quite easy as opposed to struggling beneath the truck to remove the old exhaust hangers from the rubber mounts. The directions could have been a little clearer(it did not instruct you to re-use the forward pipe coming off the stock exhaust). It was evident that it had to be re-used but I called Borla just in case. Their tech support is excellent. Upon start up the sound was just what I wanted, a nice mellow exhaust note at idle. It will definitely grab your attention when you get on the throttle. Can't say if there is any power increase as of yet, Borla says once the computer adjust to the exhaust I should notice about 10HP. Having said that , my seat of the pants reaction is it just feels alot more fun to drive. Have not driven at freeway speeds so I cannot speak to the drone that I've read about with other exhaust systems.Overall I am very pleased with the system even though it is pricey.

I love the sound and the looks of the Borla exhaust on my truck. I got it and opened the box and checked to make sure everything was there and to read the instructions. At 4:30,ALONE,I started to remove the old exhaust and at 6pm I cranked my truck with the new exhaust completed. There are a couple of things though. The first one, unless you cut the old off, you will have to remove the exhaust from the bolted connection. There is a notch that you have to twist to get out.The other issue I had was the instructions said to start from the front and work towards the rear. I tried several times and working by myself, I tried but no luck. So, I hung the tailpipe first and the the muffler and then the rest of the exhaust, including the bolted connection. Worked like a champ!

Great Exhaust, one minor issue....

The exhaust was extremely easy to install after the stock exhaust was removed. The quality is top notch and everything bolted up like it should have. The ONLY downside to this exhaust dealt with the extension piece that used my original "Supercrew" pipe extension to bolt up to the new Borla exhaust. Instead of having a good tight locking seal when the clamp was tightened, there was a slight gap all around which allowed exhaust gas to leak before getting to the muffler and condensing liquid around the joint and allowing the exhaust to slide backwards (which ended up sliding it off the actual pipe hangars under the truck. This was an easy fix for me because I just took that part of and welded it together but for someone that doesn't have the ability to weld the part together it could lead to wear and tear and an exhaust falling off because the Borla pipe hangars do not have the nipples like the stock exhaust had. Other than that, this is WELL worth the money and I love the deep rich sound :).
