Magnaflow Exhaust Systems Part #16632 Customer Reviews

If you're looking for an exhaust for your 4.7 liter, then this is the one you NEED. It gave my Jeep just enough rumble to tell that it was definitely not a stock exhaust, but it doesn't make it sound too loud. It's quiet at highway speeds, too. A little pricey but you get what you pay for! Make sure to lube up the bolts that hold on the exhaust, though. If you don't, then GOOD LUCK because you're in for a fight.

Magnaflow is a very well made system with a straight forward installation. Hardest part was cutting off the OEM exhaust. Decided to partially remove the original system before cutting it. This allowed me to use a reciprocating saw and get a good angle to cut the OEM pipe approximately where the Magnaflow system joins up. Only benefit here was that my old exhaust now will fit in the Magnaflow box and will be kept in case next owner wants to go back to original. Aligning the Magnaflow to make sure it was clear of the Jeep rear body trim needed a little trial and error but it did finally sit right. Sounds great too!

I researched several different sites and forums to ensure this exhaust was a good fit for my Grand Cherokee. Unfortunately, the install failed to live up to its standards. This exhaust was 2" short of where it was supposed to end up post bumper. Instead, the exhaust ended flush with my bumper. I immediately phoned Magnaflow from the shop I had the exhaust installed at. They asked us to do several measurements to rule out a defect in my order. All of the measurements were accurate. The Magnaflow rep stated he didn't have an answer for me but that I could return the exhaust for a full refund. Since my original exhaust had already been removed, this wasn't an option. Luckily, I had a 3" piece of stainless pipe, 2.5" in diameter. This is just what I needed to cut the Magnaflow system post-cats, weld in the new piece and adjust the remainder. It worked. On another note, it sounds great. Not too loud and levels off at higher speeds. I just wish Magnaflow was correct in its labeling of this kit as a good and proper fit for my Grand Cherokee.
