Flowmaster Street Performance Muffler 50 Series HD - #817568

This was a direct fit muffler. Once we had the original muffler off, it took only 10 minutes to get this one installed. Perfect fit. Even better sound. This is how they are supposed to sound from the factory. Lower more noticeable tone. 2011 Ram 1500 Hemi - dual pipes.

Good quality, removing the stock 10 year old system was a chore but installing the Flowmaster was easy. It helps I have a 4x4 so there was plenty of room with the rear of the truck on ramps. The sound is exactly what I was looking for, nice mellow tone at idle, agressive on acceleration and quiet on the highway.

Gibson Swept Side on '03 Dakota QuadCab 3.9L

Actual installation was very easy. Removal of factory installed muffler was inexorably difficult! I would personally recommend having it done at a muffler shop, but maybe it's just me. As far as performance (I didn't have it dynoed) I couldn't really tell if MUCH had changed. Fuel consumption did not improve or decline. As for sound, it's louder than I was hoping for (a friend had told me this one wasn't very loud), but I knew going in that it was a performance exhaust system and would be louder than factory. Therefore I'm not unimpressed. I like the deeper tones at idle, but I'm not fond of blowing my eardrums out with the radio to hear over the exhaust at 50mph. Overall, it's nice. I probably wouldn't do it again, but I did get what I thought I would... a louder exhaust with little if any change in power/performance.
