Magnaflow 93217 cat direct fit

Reviewed By Hubert W (Elgin, IL) Reviewed for a 2001 Dodge Durango —12/17/2010 9:19 AM

Received the direct fit cat converter in a big box. It was missing the band clamp as shown in the product image. No big deal. Price was reasonable for the stainless steel cat. Haven't had a chance to install it yet. Too cold. Will wait till it gets warmer. Bought this cat to get rid of the P420 error code that keeps popping up. Tired of clearing the code every day. Vehicle gets tested in September 2011.

My repair shop could only find an OEM catalytic converter for $1200. The car isn't worth that much!. Yours at around $200 worked out very well#

Does the job

Reviewed By Thomas L (BEAVERTON, OR) Reviewed for a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee —5/31/2016 6:13 PM

Not as sturdy (or heavy) as the OEM, and much thinner pipe walls. But it does the job nicely. Of course, I can't say yet if it will last as well, but then again I don't need it to. The OEM lasted 14 years and 226K miles with occasional off-road abuse. So if this one lasts 6 years and 100K miles it's probably enough to live out the car, and I'll be satisfied with that.
