Gibson Headers on '98 Dodge Ram 1500 w/ 5.9 V8

Reviewed By Thomas H R (Henderson, NV) Reviewed for a 1998 Dodge Ram —11/6/2009 9:12 AM

Performance showed and immediate increase in torque and horse power. The sound is quite pleasing w/ existing Flowmaster exhaust. With the tuned headers, the cylinder beats are more separate. It's too early to judge efficiency (gas MPG), but that depends, I'm sure, on how it is driven. Removing the OE manifold was easy, but bolting on the new headers was made difficult only because bolt access was severly limited. Fit was very nearly perfect. It bolted right in except for previously mentioned limited bolt access. If I had to do it over, I would.

Beware of your taste!

DEFINITE horse power and torque increase. Most noticeable modification so far(catback, tuner, intake). Added a deep aggressive tone to the low rpms(1000-3000) in exhaust...BUT also added some rasp and air noise to the front of the truck. Some say its normal because ur trading thick stock iron manifolds for thin long aluminum tubes. Overall: Great product thus far. Will add noise to your engine bay. Like an airy "shhhzzzzzz" sound. Some people love it, some don't. Beware of your taste!
