Not What I thought.....

Reviewed By Lloyd F (Phoenix, AZ) Reviewed for a 2000 Ford Explorer —7/21/2006 2:05 PM

Don't get me wrong the new exhaust is awesome. I just thought it would have sounded a little more beefer. I love it non the less. I do get more throttle response from it, and it was really easy to install. The only problem I have is that it sits really close to my bumper, so when it heats up, it expands upward and the tip vibrates against my bumper. I have been told to get a longer hanger for it.

Good Exhaust System, but TOO LOUD!!!

Reviewed By David H (Marion, VA) Reviewed for a 2007 Ford Explorer —11/18/2016 8:45 AM

My '07 Sport Trac (4.6L) was to quiet; I wanted it to sound like a V8 rather than the same as a 6 cyl. or a 4-banger. I installed the Gibson exhaust, which went well. It was "tight" aft of the rear axle (3" pipes going through the space allocated for 2.5" exhaust) but worked okay. Once I fired it up, however, it was an obnoxious roar. If that's what you want, the Gibson is exactly what you're looking for. I subsequently replaced the muffler with a "quiet-flow" unit, and it's perfect now.

2005 Ford Explorer XLT

Reviewed By Peter M (VAN NUYS, CA) Reviewed for a 2005 Ford Explorer —4/15/2016 1:11 PM

The headers arrived on time, were well packaged, and most importantly came with mounting hardware. I installed these on a Saturday in my garage. there a couple of things that I discovered during installation, 1) the header mounting holes could be larger. 2) should include 2 6mm X 25mm, and a bolt for rear of driver's side. Other wise, they look good, fit well and added performance.
