"I have a 9 f150 with kn series 77 fipk, and now gibosn exhaust. This combination has proved benificial due to improved torque and gas milage (gain of 50-75 mi per tank). System easy to install, nice low tone that is quiet in the cab, and low end torque inproves. I installed this system myself in about 1.5 hours. The only bad thing I noticed was in the installation instructions were it said to measure 43" from the rear of the stock muffler and the picture showedmeasuring from the front of the muffler. This could potentially cause confusion and installation problems. I called gibson and te said they would "investigate" it." —Hunter G from Poquoson, VA bought a Gibson Exhaust Systems for a 1998 Ford F-150.
I had a friend at a shop help me put it on..and with a little playing with it and re-reading the instructions we got it installed.. about 2 hours.
We ran the truck on the lift feeling for leaks at the joints. and had to adjust the camp at the first joint closest to the cat.
The quality of the product looks and fits very well.
I have drivin the truck 600 miles since the install and sounds good... quiet!! but you can now hear it alittle where before you couldnt tell what kind of engine the truck had.
The truck is a 4.2 v6 5speed standard-cab shortbed- stepside.
I imediately felt an increase in power and faster reviing.
Im not sure about the mileage but I did take trips at a high rate of speed and up and down mountains and I think that all things considered it helped the engine run its best. I ran speeds of 80mph+ with the air on and still got 18.5 mpg.
The truck has a K and N air filter and vinyl tonnoeau cover. I know that if I drove at 65mph I would get 20mpg or better. In the past the best I could get was 17mpg at 65mph.
Thanks for the great service too.

"Installation wasn't too bad. I haven't had a chance to check fuel mileage, but there seems to be a slight increase in performance and the sound is pleasant-not irritating at all." —Linn P P from Meeker, CO bought a Heartthrob Cat-Back Exhaust System for a 1998 Ford F-150.
