1998 F-150 extended cab stepside/4x4 5.4 Triton

I ordered the Gibson "Super Truck" exhaust system for my stepside Ford replacing a DanaMax system. Through no fault of their own, the system was not shipped from Gibson as promised, but it was shipped within two weeks of the order. The Super Truck system did require a head pipe from the "cats" to the muffler; no problem as I saved the pipe from the previous system (3" stainless) and purchased a sleeve to join the systems together. The torque and horsepower increased...big time. Fuel mileage did increase, if I keep my foot out of it, by about 2mpg. It is not real loud, but others hearing the rumble know the difference. It looks good and sounds great, and boy does it perform...

Robert 2 guns

I installed this system as per the video. I used a floor jack & jack stands instead of a lift The only complaint is the clamps to secure the exhaust pipes to the muffler.I had to use an impact 1/2 in air gun to secure the clamps to all the connections. Outside that ,this system sounds AWESOME . P.S. I`m 73 years old and I consider my self still a motor head. Respectfully.

Borla Exhaust Systems Reviews

Sounds Awesome on my 5.0L

Reviewed By Scott B (Tomball, TX) Reviewed for a 2016 Ford F-150 —1/7/2017 7:29 AM

I installed a Borla touring exhaust system on my F-150, and it surpasses every expectation I had. Don't let the description of quietest Borla exhaust fool you. The touring exhaust is plenty loud, especially on a cold morning. It has a nice rumble as you accelerate through the gears, all the while maintaining a quiet interior on the highway. I highly recommend this exhaust to anyone who wants their truck to make a little noise, but not so much that it's obnoxious.
