MBRP...value exhaust

Reviewed By reza s (EUGENE, OR) Reviewed for a 2003 Ford F-250 —9/29/2014 10:37 PM

Got to admit the kit is complete with everything you'll need but the pipes were covered in grease and there were metal shavings inside the pipes with rough cut edges. Once installed, I had exhaust leaks from a few locations so I had to remove the clamps, move them close to the edges of where the pipes met, tighten them down to bend the pipes a bit and then move them to their original locations. Overall I think its good value and sounds pretty awesome.

Great kit...but get some assistance

Reviewed By William H (Middleburg, VA) Reviewed for a 2003 Ford F-250 —9/24/2009 9:31 AM

I tackled this project on Labor day weekend and it took me more than 8 hours to get the old exhaust out of the engine compartment. The problem is that Ford wrapped the exhaust in aluminum clad insulation on the downpipe which made it to large to get through any hole. I ended up using a saws-all to cut the pipe into 4 pieces to get it out of the truck. Once the old exhaust was out, the new exhaust was fully installed in less than 2 hours. Looks are about the only benefit that I have from it. The sound is about the same as the truck sounded before but now the turbo can be heard very clearly. I now understand the insulation that Ford put on the downpipe...not for heat insulation but for sound from the turbo. Overall, it is still beautiful and adds exactly the right look. And you need a second person when you put the new downpipe in so that you can have someone hold it in place while you put the V clamp back in place.
