"Even better sounding then I expected. I have never heard a better sounding exhaust on a mustang, sounds just like the early 90's GT's. I like that the tips are welded to the pipes so there is no rattling around and everything fits nice and snug. Looks and sounds great, bolted up real nice to the BBK o/r pipe. I would highly recommend this combo (o/r x-pipe & Flowmaster 40 series) to anyone looking for that great unmistakeable Flowmaster sound!" —Tom H from Des Plaines, IL bought a Flowmaster Exhaust Systems for a 2003 Ford Mustang, GT, 4.6L V8.
"The product is great, the price was great, and the sound is amazing!!! You need access to a lift as the angle needed to get the new pipes over the axle is so steep jack stands would not give me the height/clearance/angle I needed. Hear me now, Borla is the best!!" —Jason P from Forest, VA bought a Borla Exhaust Systems for a 2003 Ford Mustang, GT, 4.6L V8.
"Just remember to jack the body away from the frame to get the pipes in and you should have your new Flowmaster system installed in less than an hour.
Great sound, I love it." —Nick S from Rochester Hills, MI bought a Flowmaster Exhaust Systems for a 2003 Ford Mustang.
"Great sound and looks. Borla is first quality start to finish. May cost a little more but worth every penny." —Larry M from Henderson, NV bought a Borla Exhaust Systems for a 2003 Ford Mustang, Mach 1, 4.6L V8.
"Great power-adder. Great sound. The fitment was good but system seems to hang a little lower than the stock one." —Robbie R from Evansville, IN bought a Flowmaster Exhaust Systems for a 2003 Ford Mustang.
"I have installed exhaust systems from Magnaflow, Bassani, and Flowmaster and this Gibson exhaust rates on the top of the list. Great fit and easy to install! Not very loud, but a good tone. You can hear the rumble when you hit the gas, but no drone and not too loud." —Michael S from Apex, NC bought a Gibson Exhaust Systems for a 2003 Ford Mustang.
Very nice kit made installation fairly easy. If you have any machanical ability there is no reason not to do the installtion yourself. Was able to do the installation with all hand tools in 3.5 hours. Power tools would have cut it in half, plus I had to do some modifications to the tips.
Only problem I really had was the tips. I had re-drill and boure out the welded mountings as they were way too snug to get the mounting rods in them. Since, I didn't want to ruin the tips this took some time, but would have been faster if I had a 1' drill bit. I initally figured this had to do with a temparture change and the pipes just expeanded, but even after putting the tips in the freezer for 15 mins didn't help.
Sound's nice!!! A bit louder then I thought it would be from the reviews, but not an issue. Sounds like a kitten crusing on the HW. Sounds like a modified Cobra in the city.
Performance, defenetly getting more HP. After one week. I got slight more gas milage, but don't think this has anything to do with the exhaust. I just stating using brand name gas again, and added 6 lbs of air pressuer in the tires over the door rating. Had alot of rain this week and the added tire press seem to perform better with my tires. Their max rating is 45 door rating is 34. So I'm running them at 40 lbs. Gas milage went from 17.2 to 17.9 some route I always do, but still too many other factors to state the exhaust improve gas milage. But I would bet if I was not punching the gas as much to hear the new exhaust, I would have topped 18." —Robert P from Sicklerville, NJ bought a Magnaflow Exhaust Systems for a 2003 Ford Mustang.
"I think this is a great exhaust system, but I did have some trouble with the fitment.
The main problem I experienced was attempting to install the tips. The metal hanger rods would not fit through the hanger rings on the tips, even with very heavy hammering, so I was unable to install the tips. Otherwise, great sounding system." —Patrick M from Alpharetta, GA bought a Magnaflow Exhaust Systems for a 2003 Ford Mustang, 3.8L V6.
"I purchased a Bassani aft-cat exhaust system for my 2003 Cobra Mustang and I am happy with the results. It was a straight forward installation and I love the sound. I'm not sure about performance gains but it does feel a bit more powerful. I think the only negative side to this system is the price, it is quite expensive but Autoanything.com did give me the best possible price I would give it a top rating! I will also be a repeat customer of autoanything.com" —Lori T from Taunton, MA bought a Bassani Aft-Cat Exhaust System for a 2003 Ford Mustang, Cobra, 4.6L V8.
"It was a Littke challenging to install. But, it's on now & it sounds great...." —Brandon B from Garner, NC bought a Borla Exhaust Systems for a 2003 Ford Mustang, Cobra, 4.6L V8.
"Borla exhaust sounds fantastic with the look to match! It took a little over an hour to install and the hardest part was removing my stock system. I could be happier with the exhaust but I paid extra for 2 day shipping and it still took 10 day to get to me. Was not happy about that!" —Ryan H from Fallon, NV bought a Borla Exhaust Systems for a 2003 Ford Mustang, Mach 1, 4.6L V8.
