Clean Looking Pipe

Reviewed By Dario B (Herndon, VA) Reviewed for a 2000 Jeep Cherokee —4/3/2009 8:51 PM

I needed a replacement exhaust for my Jeep since the factory one was shot, so I purchased this one for 265 shipped. For the money, I could'nt be happier. It's a pretty clean looking install (and easy), sounds really nice at idle with a deep gurgle, and under accelleration, and doesn't resonate in the cabin while cruising. Someone in an earlier review mentioned how the sound changed a few days after the install, and I have to agree. After about three days of daily driving the growling, rumbling sound has gotten a bit deeper. All in all a solid looking/performing exhaust that's fairly easy to get installed. The only issues I had when installing was getting old one off, adjusting the hanger to properly fit, and after fitting, I had to trim about 3 inches off the end of the pipe exiting out the rear; it was just too long and after the chrome tip was put on, it just looked awkward. I have also noted a slight increase in MPG, but not sure if this is also due to the fact that when I did the exhaust I also replaced rear leaf springs, all 4 shocks and 4 new tires... Overall, though, nice looking pipe.

Can't go wrong

Reviewed By Ryan B (Seattle, WA) Reviewed for a 1998 Jeep Cherokee —12/27/2014 10:45 PM

I've had this system on my 98 XJ 4L for 2 weeks. Sounds very nice, not too loud and no drone at all. I have not seen an increase in MPG, it does feel a bit more throttle responsive off idle. I have the monster exhaust paired with a banks revolver header, which creates a low rumble at idle and a smooth, almost "European in-line" sound while cruising. Installation was a breeze, it took about an hour with a reciprocating saw and a 3/8 socket set in the garage. Great value for the price point.

good product, great price

Install was easy, and would have been easier with access to a lift. Fit is perfect, quality of material is superb and the sound is perfect for a straight six. The system provides a deep powerful growl, with no "ricer" sound or interior resonance. Not much louder than stock. If buying for a v8 I would want it louder.
