Better than stock

Reviewed By Jason H (Carrollton, TX) Reviewed for a 1988 Mercury Grand Marquis —6/9/2009 8:42 PM

But not high flow. They allow a little better flow than the original converters, but not much more. They do sound better though. If I can get true duals on my car, they may work even better and the y pipe may be the main issue I'm having. Installation was a cake walk. Getting the old ones off was a pain, but these went on very easily. Would have been better if they matched up to the OE air injection without modification, but that's not a big deal.

My repair shop could only find an OEM catalytic converter for $1200. The car isn't worth that much!. Yours at around $200 worked out very well#

Does the job

Reviewed By Thomas L (BEAVERTON, OR) Reviewed for a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee —5/31/2016 6:13 PM

Not as sturdy (or heavy) as the OEM, and much thinner pipe walls. But it does the job nicely. Of course, I can't say yet if it will last as well, but then again I don't need it to. The OEM lasted 14 years and 226K miles with occasional off-road abuse. So if this one lasts 6 years and 100K miles it's probably enough to live out the car, and I'll be satisfied with that.
