Description

Designed to be installed with minimum worry and deliver a necessary defense from the junk that dings up your fenders, the Custom Extend-a-Fender Flare is the direct answer to sheet metal protection. Big tires or small, if you just drove through the mud or down a gravel road that stuff will be hitting your paint next, and if not blasting into your truck it's likely the tire-fired projectiles will get the truck next to you. Beyond covering your paint, some municipalities require all large-by-wide tires be covered and these fender flares can keep you from a fix-it ticket.

Extend-a-Fender installation on 2000 Toyota Tacoma

"Installation instructions are clear. Bushwacker flares use existing holes and inserts in fenders...a plus. Flares fit very snug against the truck's fenders. Be careful not to overtorque screws as the plastic inserts are very easy to strip. Holes in middle of left rear(LR) flare should be further from edge of flare making flare fit tighter to fender. I had to enlarge the hole to get a tight fit. Recommend installing LR flare last so you can see how the others fit. Check alignment of the LR flare closely before drilling. Other three flares were good and tight."

"I’ve wanted to purchase extenda flares since I’ve owned the truck, however, I had a hard time parting with $400 plus dollars. Bought them on sale, under $400 plus dollars, and installed them after I put new rubber all the way around. Couldn’t be happier, the front tires rub just a bit, but it’s still worth the money. Respectfully, Al Bishop, TX"

"Even though I didn't want to put them on...I had too due to wide tires throwing road mud up on side of truck. I had them painted to match truck. Installation was straight forward and easy. Did not run into any problems. Total time was approx. 21/2 hours start to finish. Was working in 97 degree heat. Overall very good product, fast shipping, exactly as advertised!"

"I installed a set of(4)extend-a-fender flares on my 2008 Dodge ram 2500. Installation was pretty easy (took about 1 1/2 hrs...not working hard)and the flares look great on my truck and do a good job protecting the truck body from dirt and mud. I would recommend these flares to anyone wanting to enhance appearance or protect their truck."

"The flares were fairly easy to install with the only problems being cutting the original side moulding (No big deal there with a sharp knife). The instructions did say to use a hair dryer but a heat gun is what you need. I had my son help me hold things which was very helpful he's eight so getting to help was a big deal. they look great and fit the sides just like factory flares would have. I have gotten several compliments on the looks."

"Bushwacker seems to be a good product.Installation wasnt very difficult. However Bushwacker claims you do not have to pre-drill,there was no way I could have installed them without doing this. The extend a fenders look pretty good on my Dodge truck. The only draw back is they are costly for a plastic product"

Awesome Fender Flares.

Posted on 01/11/2008 by Thomas W. - 2004 Nissan Titan (Monument,CO)

7 of 7 people found the following review helpful.

"I put these Fender Flares on my Nissan Titan and they do not only look great, but they fit perfectly and provide much needed coverage. The biggest reason I bought them is because I have over sized tires, 35"s, and was getting snow, ice, rain, and highway mush all over the side windows. I couldn't see! After adding the flares there is much less debris on the windows. They look awesome and were very easy to install. I would HIGHLY recommend Bushwacker to anyone!"

great flares

6 of 6 people found the following review helpful.

"Fit was great and easy to install. I really like the way the flares cover the bottom of the door edge which should eliminate alot of the winter road grime on the rocker panel.I wasn't sure I'd like the bigger look of the extenda flare versus the oem street flares but they look alot better than I thought they would. The steep price for a couple pieces of plastic is the only thing keeping them from a 5 star although all the other flares are just as expensive.Autoanything definitely had the best price though."

Right product for my application.

Posted on 12/27/2007 by Gregory L. - 1988 Ford F250 (Moorestown,NJ)

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful.

"The Bushwacker Flares were bought to cover a small rust spot on my right rear fender well. My truck was 3 years past a fine restoration and I noticed a small slow growing rust bubble. I did not want to touch up a repair because the paint would never match the bronze metallic color. So I was able to completely repair the bubble and protect with POR-15 inside and out. The fit and look of the Flares was perfect and only I know what repair they cover. They fit great and were easy to install. If you can install a license plate you can install the Bushwackers... A warm day helps but is not required. Just take your time."

Overpriced aggressive looking plastic.

Posted on 11/21/2007 by Nate O. (Sophia,NC)

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful.

"I purchased these for my Toyota T-100. The shipment was easy to track and showed up quickly. The fender flares look very nice, very aggressive. I was dissapointed, though, since they were very expensive. These are not much more than plastic. They required sanding, grinding, drilling, painting and some assembly. There were not enough bolts to fasten them to the truck. Called support, they were very friendly and are sending more. It seems like a price of $300 should purchase a color matched fender flare. The end product will be nice, but a should have a price of closer to $175. The shipping and customer service with autoanything is great."

Posted on 11/04/2007 by Donald R. - 2006 Dodge Ram (Fort Myers,FL)

"They look really nice on my 06 Ram 1500. Install was pretty simple, not sure how well the clips will hold but at least no drilling. Tip: be sure to "pre-fit" the fenders and sand/file lightly to get a good fit before adding the included trim and installing. Like the looks so far, will see how they last?!?"

"The original 2 sets for the rear did not fit. Made a call to Bushwacker and explained the problem and a different set of rears was sent out. Something about the fitment between where the beds were made on some of the Dodges. Now that they are painted and installed they look awsome."
