On our 2001 Chevrolet 1500 cutting the fender wells front and rear was required. We ended up having them installed. We didn't want the cuts to look amateurish.

You really need 2 people to install or clamps to hold in place. When you put the rubber strips on do it in the grass or carpet so you don't scratch them. It took me a while to understand the clips for the rear once they are on they hold great. The holes in the front ones did not line up. I ended up using self taping. Took me 3 hours. They really look great, even my wife noticed and she doesn't look at that stuff. 4 stars because it's difficult to get them on.
