"The smell is as other have described it - skunky!!! And for at least days if not weeks (not that much time has passed for us yet.) We have, like others, aired them out on the patio for a couple of days before installation and now the Element has been sitting with all doors open since we installed them. I think it will eventually be fine, but you really do have to wonder why the smell can't be addressed. That is the only thing about both the purchase experience from AutoAnything and another (my third) set of Lloyds mats a most pleasant experience."

"I just bought two sets of these - one for a small sedan and one for an SUV w/ 3 rows of seats. Both sets fit perfectly and seem like they will stay in place great. I listened to others' advice about the smell and let them air out on my patio for a week before putting them in the cars. Even with doing that, when I first get in the car I do smell it a little, but its not overwhelming and seems to be fading already. I looked at other company's mats and people complained about their smell, too, so I wouldn't stay away from these just over that. Otherwise, I'm very happy with them."

"I knew what to expect, because I had purchased the same mats as a give for a friend's Versa. They had a strong odor initially, but that is disapaiting over time. I think they could be a little thicker. I purchased all weather mats from the dealer for a Subaru Forester for the same price. They were much thicker and virtually indestructible. I worry that the mats from Lloyd's might eventually tear."

"The floor mats look fine, but it took awhile for the smell to subside, which I think has to do with the fact that I believe they are vinyl, aren't they. It seems that I remember them being described as rubber in the description given in the online catalog. Whatever the case, they are fine now."

"Fit like a glove, hold muck well, and are simple to clean. Mine had a horrible odor but I let them sit on the back deck for about two weeks before installing. Now it's tolerable. I wouldn't put them in stright from the box."

"Had these for about a month now. Not the Custom Fit that I was hoping for but nevertheless, complete coverage. I had Weathertech mats for my 04 Odyssey and they where great for the front. The back had no coverage between the Captain's chairs. These mats had already paid for themselves when one of my kids dropped his ice cream cone between the chairs. The smell that people have mentioned was noticible for about 3 days and now nothing."

"I like the mats except they smell like skunk. I have tried to let them air out for two weeks but that has not worked. Now I will try and return them and get Weathertech mats."

"Other than the slight "Skunky" odor they emit for a few weeks, these mats are excellent. They lay flat and are easy to hose off. Keeps sand in the indentations and out of the carpets. Good product!"

"Any odor from the mats upon receipt disappeared within two days. They fit great and look perfect in the light tan interior of my new TSX. This is the third set of Llyod mats that I've had - each time with great satifaction. Get lots of compliments on how nice they look."

"I love these mats. I wish the cargo mat had a lip butting up to the back seats like the weather tech mats. I have purchased Weather Tech mats in the past, which protected my floor well. I could only afford to purchase Weather Tech mats for the front of the vehicle for two other vehicles. With the Lloyd mats prices, I was able to purchase mats for the front, back and the cargo area. My Lloyd mats are protecting my light colored floor well!"

"First I tried to place them over my stock mats but then I removed my stock mats and they fit way better. Im a simple person and they have a simplistic but sturdy look. Im glad I was able to find them."

"I've had these mats for well over two weeks. I left them to air out for about a week. Part of that time was spent in the sun and bathtub with baking soda overnight. They STILL have that skunky new rubber smell. I also expected a better fit as a little bit of the floor is still exposed. There's also a round, removable piece on the driver side mat that is there for no reason. It's nowhere near the mat hooks. Maybe these aren't for 07+ Altimas. Otherwise, these mats are pretty nice. They're very durable, stay in place, and catch everything but STD's. They weren't cheap, and I expected a little better, but at least I don't have to worry now."

"I bought the cargo mat, one-piece second row mat, and the front mats for my 2008 Scion XB . The fit of these mats is good, but not excellent. A note about the smell: this is a characteristic of any rubber mat I've been around. The smell dies off in about 2 months. They look tidy in the car, and are protecting the floors well enough. I think the mats are overpriced for the quality, but didn't see anything fitted that was less expensive. I would purchase them again."

"These mats came custom-fit for my car. They look great and seem very durable. The only problem is the initial smell which hasn't worn off after more than a week. It literally smells like a skunk bombed my car. Based on other reviews, I'm counting on this smell going away soon and am planning to keep the mats when it does."

"Floor mats are of good quality and installation was easy. The mats fit my 2008 Honda Oddyssee without any trimming and the fit is excellent. Only negative comment: the mats smell like a skunk. I'd have given them higher marks had they not had such a strong odor. It has taken over my new car smell."

"Mats fit well and easily installed. They are heavy enough to stay in place. They did have a strong smell and I let them air out for 3 days before using them. This helped but still have some smell after car has been closed. Odor is not too bad and I did not remmove them anymore. Appearance could be improved with some kind of border. These are just stamp cut and left the same on edges. Overall I am satisfied with quality over store bought."
