Separating the Good from the Bad
Finding quality clear car mats can be quite a challenge. Some offer awesome clarity, yet are so thin they need to be replaced often. Thicker options are usually made from components that fade over time, causing them to turn dark or yellow, giving them a dirty look. Don’t fret – you can find quality, clear floor mats that offer clarity while still keeping you vehicle’s floors clean. You just have to know what to look for:
- Avoid plastic mats. For all of the clarity they deliver, the constant barrage of feet on the floor will wear them away in no time at all. Instead, choose mats made from vinyl, rubber or another composite material that stands up over time.
- Look specifically for floor mats that guarantee not to fade. Ask about any sort of guarantee or warranty the manufacturer may offer if discoloration does occur.
- Your mat should have some sort of traction nib or grip to keep from sliding around on the floor, yet still be easy enough to remove when it needs to be cleaned.
Let’s face it, you bought your vehicle to get good use out of it. Part of that use is placing your feet all over the vehicle’s carpet. Don’t let the carpet’s appearance be a casualty of that use any longer – a good set of clear car mats helps keep your vehicle’s interior looking as good as the day you bought it.
