Grille guards and brush guards are the same product. Legend has it that the original designers/users created these guards to prevent paint and grille scratches when driving through high brush, thus the name brush guard.
As the popularity of these guards have increased and designs have changed to cover more of the front-end, they came to be known more commonly as grille guards, sometimes spelled as "grill" guards. "Brush guard" can also refer to the light cover portions of a full grille guard.

Each of the grille guards AutoAnything sells has the combined primary use of being a sturdy front-end protector and a provider of heavy-duty looks. All grille guards will protect against scratching from driving through brush, and will provide low-speed pushing power to your front end. However, most manufacturers don't recommend using your grille guard to ram, break or drive-through any kind of objects. And, using your grille guard for pushing could mark the finish or blemish the object you're pushing.
All of AutoAnything's grille guards use an easy, bolt-on installation design. Your grille guard will mount to existing factory holes without cutting or drilling with most vehicles. Innovative mounts avoid damaging your vehicle and won't affect your original warranty. Each grille guard comes with detailed instructions for installation to your vehicle. Most models can be bolted on in half an hour or less.
All of the grille guard products we sell are custom-made for your vehicle. Each grille guard is precision designed for an exact fit to your specific year, make, model and sub-model. Custom-fitting means a sturdy, rigid fit that virtually becomes part of your vehicle.
Custom design is also reflected in the looks of your grille guard. Each of the grille guards we sell is shaped to follow the subtle contours of your vehicle creating, a stylish appearance without boxy looks.
Each full size grille guard we feature is equipped with a pre-punched light bar that can accommodate fog, driving and hi-beam auxiliary lights. Check the description of smaller grille guards to verify the product is equipped with light mounts and will accommodate your lights. Instructions for wiring your setup are included with your auxiliary lights.
T304 and T403 steel are both stainless steel alloys that are highly corrosion-resistant. T-304 has the highest chromium and nickel content of any stainless steel, making it the most corrosion-resistant material in the industry and the most commonly used stainless steel.
T403 stainless steel is highly corrosion-resistant, though it is a different alloy developed for high impact strength. Grille guards made from either of these materials are highly corrosion resistant, will likely not rust for the life of your vehicle, and have the strength to meet your needs.

In low-speed dings and minor fender bender situations, a grille guard can be an excellent measure for reducing costly damage to molded bumpers and grille detail parts. Higher speed collisions will mash your grille guard back into your front end, and will not prevent or increase costly damage. And, while a grille guard may prevent low-speed damage, there are no guarantees for what damage it will inflict on trees, guard rails and other vehicles.

There is no conclusive or comprehensive data at this time regarding air bag deployment and grille guards, and opinions vary to say the least. Most of our grille guards are considered medium-strength grille guards (excluding winch-specific models), suitable for pushing a vehicle, but one that will crush in a high-speed accident.
Forward deceleration of approximately 40-50 G's triggers sensors that deploy modern air bag systems. Since the sensors work on deceleration and are normally located under the hood, adding reinforced bumpers or grille guards should not interfere with air bag systems. We suggest you check your vehicle's manual for sensor location and type to make sure that user-added equipment does not interfere with your sensors.

Because it mounts directly behind your bumper, a bumper guard may nullify your back-up warning alarm system. The sensors for your system are probably right on the bumper, just behind an installed bumper guard. If you want to use a bumper guard on a vehicle equipped with back-up warning sensors, it is best to turn-off the warning system (if possible).
Part of the features of a custom-designed grille guard is that the product will accommodate factory equipment wherever possible. Most of the grille guards we offer allow full use of your tow hooks.
Because factory mounting positions for tow hooks are very strong, your grille guard may mount in these spots. For grille guards that require removal of your factory tow hooks, the grille guard manufacturer will most often include alternate tow hooks with their product.
