I did not have to remove the road/air clip/guard. I pulled the Equinox onto ramps & installed brackets loosely. Then put the sports bar on with 2 bolts only temporarily & loosely {the bar will move up & down freely}then I tightened the brackets to mark where I needed to drill & saw out openings for the bar to go in. I removed the bar, drilled & cut openings then reinstalled the bar. All done in an hour with assistance for the last 10 minutes.

Nice product, good quality, and a great value from Autoanything. But installation is somewhat difficult. mounting point is harder to get to than "pull back blastic shroud". You will need either a ratcheting 19mm box end or a stubby wrench to tighten the front mounting bolt to the frame. Once on you'll be pleased with the look.

Pros: nice appearance/finish; well-constructed Cons: poor instructions; lock washers needed for safety, but not included; difficult for 1 person to install; installation made easier if wheels and inner fender liners are removed; major trimming of under-body liner required around brackets.
