The description on the site said LD. I thought it was a typo and meant HD as none of the other grille guards available bothered to label the regular 1500 as such. The brackets didn't fit my 1500 HD and westin doesn't make them so I made my own. After about 4 hours (using tools that any purchaser of a grille guard should have anyways) and many tests fits, I had my grille guard mounted. My mounts use the original three points for the town hooks instead of two. Much stronger and fits like a glove!

bolts to short to do the job had to go to hardware store and buy $6.00 worth of bolts to put the first bracket on truck and then line up where to cut plastic air damn on truck no template of where to cut the bottom piece impossible photo copies of installation to decipher and the part was wrapped so shoddy you cant tell if it was damaged in shipment or not and the dameages on the grill work is inside the grill work so they had to have been damaged before it was wrapped for shipment

I had no issues with installation and I installed it by myself. It's basically 4 two piece brackets and one big guard. It's a perfect fit on my truck, although I had to cut out small sections where the tow hooks go in order for the brackets to fit right (I don't have tow hooks installed). I love the grille guard. It really adds to the look of the truck and it seems rock solid. I highly recommend the product.

I had repairs done due to hitting an elk cow and add this when it was in the shop. It looks sharp and seems to be nice quality. The picture shown is NOT the one I got...it's straight on top, not curved up.....kinda a bummer, as I wanted the curved style so it was different then all the others.

i bought this to install on my 03 avalanche and i'm quite pleased. it was shipped in less than 2 days which was very quick. it did have some minor scratches on the top cross bar upon arrival, but they were hardly noticeable. installation was not bad, the instructions provided are horrible and the ones found online did not help either, and we had to flip the brackets once we did get it on the truck. but now that its on it looks good and i'm happy with it.

Easy to put on and an amazing look! Worth the money because its not bulky and gives that sporty look! Everyone loves it and I certainly can't wait to install my winch on it. The fog lamp option is great with the holes already on the guard. Westin makes quality parts.

2009 Ford Expedition
I read some of the reviews and see that there is some cutting and/or modifications required to install the guard on a 2009 Ford Expedition, is this a fact? If a modification is required, how much? Are the tow hooks retained after the installation and is so are the factory mounting bolts on the tow hooks used?

Hi, Any necessary trimming really depends on the application (I wouldn't know which ones unfortunately). I can say though, most bull bars and brush guards will mount to your tow hook location, prompting removal of the hooks.flag Accept Answer

I installed the westin sportsman grill guard on my jeep. Looks awesome! I had to remove the bumper cover to do it though. The mouting brackets had a D on the driver side one and a P on the passenger side one. I had a problem installing it. The brackets had to go in the opposite side that they were supposed to. Anybody else had that problem?
