Description

Whether you’re motoring down the highway or zigzagging through a parking lot, your rig’s front end is open to all kinds of damage. Oblivious drivers and loose shopping carts can smack into your auto, sending you on an expensive trip to the body shop. Shield your ride from damage with an Aries Off Road Grille Guard.

Along with serious protection, an Aries Off Road Grille Guard steps up your truck or SUV’s style to new heights. Aries custom designs your Off Road Grille Guard to accentuate the factory lines. The built-in brush guards wrap around your headlights for extra security, and the pre-drilled light holes let you mount up an array of auxiliaries.

Your Aries Off Road Grille Guard is built tough right down to its core. It’s constructed from heavy-duty 1 1/2” tubing in either a solid 1-piece or a modular design. Thick rubber bump pads run down the center pillars, and you can choose from 2 finishes: polished stainless steel (Lifetime Warranty) or black powder-coated steel (3-year warranty).

Installed cleanly and looks clean on the Ford Explorer. Received in shipment in excellent condition and shipping only took three to four days before I received it. Very easy to install and will buy others in the near future.

I have wanted a grill guard for years and finaly broke down and bought one. This guard first of all looks awesome makes smaller trucks look tougher and also gives ur front end some protection. istalation was done in 30 min. the only reason i gave instalation a 4/5 was the instructions were vage so it left you thinking alittle. it just took some thinking and peicing it togeather for a proper fit before you go bolting everything on. it is definatly a 2 person job though. This guard is one peice and is made tough in my opinion. over all id say get this guard if you can. from my research its one of the nicest looking and best value guard i could find for my truck (04 nissan frontier).

The Aries brush guard for my 2008 Nissan Frontier crew cab looks and works amazing. With only a few hiccups during installation, it was definitely worth the price. The only complaint is that the top brackets that come allow for the guard to be positioned about 6 - 8 inches off the front end of the truck. But with a dremel, a table vice and black spray paint, you would never know the brackets were altered, and now the guard sits closer on the truck. Overall, excellent product.

The bolts that came with the guard were to skinny. For a nice solid installation, we just used bigger bolts. It wasn't a problem. I did as you said and opened the package prior to signing for it. There was no damage, and the trucker was patient. He even helped me tear and cut it open. I got the stainless, and it looks awesome!

This was an easy install for my '05 Colorado. I was able to do it all by myself. This was shipped via UPS Freight and they contacted me to setup delivery of which I ended up picking it up at their depot due to the safety issue of parking a 53' trailer on the two-lane highway in front of my house (was my advice). This is NOT a gigantic unit in its shipping packaging and can be transported by any size pickup. The latest revision is model 4080 for the Colorado/Canyon series of trucks. I don't know what the difference is between the other version. You don't have to remove the air valance that is on the bottom of the front bumper, just hold the vertical main brackets to where they will go and then cut the valance with a cutoff wheel or with a razor blade. Make extra room for the actual vertical part of the bumper that bolts to the bracket (I can't remember if it was on the inside or outside). You'll only need to cut about a 1/4". Obviously you have to remove the plastic splash/skid plate before you do any of this AND you will have to trim that to make it fit after installing the guard. I didn't have any crossbeam to remove as the instructions insisted (I think it is for later models). The top brackets mount to existing vertical front bumper bolts which only need to be loosened a bit to accommodate the brackets. Otherwise, KEEP THE BOLTS LOOSE when mounting so you can later get the entire assembly centered. When all is good, tighten everything up to German torque standards, "Gutentite" (no actual torque spec is mentioned in the instructions). Yes, I did this all by myself and it was slightly a pain but I fastened the top bolts first AFTER making sure the bottom brackets were correct. Later I mounted up two KC 130 watt Daylighter lights from AutoAnything.com. Search the internet forums for information on how to wire the KC lights up so that they will turn on with the high beams. Now I have a squirrel-squashin', deer-smackin' drivin' machine!

Pros: 1. Solid metal construction and welds appear equally solid 2. Nice to have poly shield protection for bull bars 3. Easy to install with no modifications to FJ 4. Paint on Guard appears to be quality 5. Fit and appearance are strong 6. All parts included Cons: 1. Attachments to Radiator Supports provides limited strength to actually support the grille incase it were ever needed for an impact with deer or for pushing a vehicle. No problem for branches, but would not do well on trees. Wish the designer figured out a way to provide more strength for supporting the guard.
