Steelcraft Bull Bars Part #72040 Customer Reviews
Reviewed by Darren M (Thomson, GA) Reviewed for a 2006 Dodge Dakota — Feb 19, 2014 10:47 AM
Stainless is nice and build is sturdy. Not enough space for both tag (with relocate bracket) and 5" fog lights. I ordered the 5" rather than 6" lights but they still overlap tag. Mount design good, no cutting or drilling, and should be simple, except 2 mounting bolts on my Dodge are body mount bolts with a round steel w/ rubber "isolator" nut. No way to put a socket on it, and pry bar and impact wrench did not budge it. Will have to cut off and buy replacement hardware.

I read on the internet about installation problems with some of the other brands requiring some cutting of the air dam and was concerned. Boy, was I supprised. The mounts were simple to install and the bars fit without even touching the air dam. My son and I put them on without even raising the truck with ordinary tools in less than a half hour. Granted, don't fool yourself, these aren't going to push cars or hold the truck up over a stump that is too tall. They are decorative and at best will help keep weeds and sticks from damaging the grill and radiator cores and they use the tow hook attach point. They would also be useful to hang extra lights or tags on. So if your expectations match what the product does, you will be very pleased.
