All Grille Guard products use an easy bolt-on installation. Your Grille Guard product will mount to existing factory holes without cutting or drilling. Innovative mounts avoid damaging vehicle and won't void vehicle rust warranty.


Average installation time is less than 30 minutes.

Each Grille Guard is equipped with a pre-punched light bar that can accommodate two large fog lights.


All Black Grille Guard products are made with a durable powder coat finish that resists chipping and fading even after years of abuse. The Stainless Steel Finish Grille Guards are extremely strong and will not chip or fade under normal conditions.


Absolutely, WAAG grille guards are designed to integrate factory tow hooks. The tow hook mounting location is, in most cases, extremely strong, and often WAAG mounts to the same location with brackets engineered to accommodate the tow hooks. However, on some vehicles, such as the Ford Ranger (1998), it is necessary to temporarily remove the hooks to facilitate installation and then the hooks can be reinstalled. On the Ranger, the only provision is that you switch the driver's side hook to the passenger side and vice versa. Note: There are a few exceptions in the WAAG line. The Nissan Pathfinder (1995-99) does require removal of the factory hooks as does the Jeep Cherokee (1988-2000).

There are several reasons it is vital: First and foremost, cutting and drilling can void a vehicle manufacturer rust warranty, which is a major concern for consumers in areas with seasonal snow fall and salted roads. From a consumer standpoint, "bolt on, no cutting and drilling" offers several advantages:

1. Easier installation and requires no guesswork on the part of the installer.
2. No cutting and drilling requires no special tools or modification of the vehicle.
3. Because WAAG utilizes factory-mounting locations, their grille guards consistently mount evenly on the vehicle with little or no adjustment.

• WAAG Grille guards are made with 1/4" steel plates. The wrap-arounds are made of 1.5 O.D cold-rolled, 16 gauge round tubing.
• Clearance tubes are made with 1.5" O.D., .090 gauge round tubing.
• WAAG Headlight grilles are 5/16" cold-rolled solid rods. Vinyl molding is used on the plates, which will not fade or crack like rubber molding.
• WAAG Tail Light Guards are made of 3/4" O.D. round tubing with 5/15" round inset rods. The brackets vary from vehicle to vehicle.
• WAAG Rear Bumper Guards are made with 1/4" steel plates and 1.25" O.D., 16-gauge round tubing. Vinyl molding is used on the plates, which will not fade or crack like rubber molding.
• WAAG Side Tubes are made with 3" O.D., .090 gauge round tubing. The tubes come with aluminum steps in a satin black finish. All WAAG products have a durable five-stage satin-black powder coat finish, which resists chipping and fading.

We only guarantee that the WAAG rear bumper guard will work with "authorized" factory hitch packages. Aftermarket hitches made by independent manufacturers may or may not fit, since their mounting systems vary. It is important that you confirm with your dealership that you have a factory hitch package since some dealerships contract with outside sources for hitches. Yes, our Expedition grille guard and F150 grille guard has bent plates which "V" to follow the grille lines. The 1997-98 guard has straight plates.


The difference in the grille guards is purely a design choice by WAAG. Both straight and bent plate guards are built to the same demanding standards that WAAG sets.


There is no conclusive or comprehensive data at this time regarding air bags deployment and opinions vary to say the least. Some vehicle manufacturers, most notably Ford, Nissan and GMC offer a factory grille guard for some of their trucks. WAAG Grille Guards are considered a medium-strength grille guard, suitable for pushing a vehicle, but one that will crush in an accident.


Yes, for the 1995-2001 Explorer the grille guard fits all four-door vehicles up to 2001 and two-door Explorers up to 2000. There is a grille guard for the 2001 Explorer Sport/Sport Truck and a separate one for the redesigned 2002 Ford Explorer. As for the Expedition, there is one guard for the 1997-98 models and one for the 1999-2002 model. The lone exception is the Ford F150 Lightning, which would require cutting the factory bumper to install.
