I wasn't going to add bull bars to my Sierra, but it was the best way to mount my Cibie Oscars. The kit came very well packed and padded in overall excellent condition, although there was some surface rust spotting on one end that came off with a quick buff out. Anyone with a modicum of sense or a back yard mechanic's skills can mount these things, but the directions are pretty lacking. One trick, after figuring what of the plastic has to be cut to access the bracket bolts, remove the brackets from the bull bars to facilitate getting them on to the frame, as opposed to what the directions say, especially on the passenger side. On day one I got approving comments from several people.

Two things stand out about my Westin Sportsman Grille Guard experience. First, the shipping. I had someone from Auto Anything confirm my shipping address by phone (because I had left out a detail) The next day it was at my house! Second, the clever design that allowed me to install it by myself without lifting, just bolt and tip into place. No backstrain, no spilled beer! My goal is to minimize damage to my Tundra as I commute through a heavy deer migration area. I think it will allow me to drive away from a direct hit without lunching my radiator into the fan. There's no noticeable road noise and zero vibration.

The bull bar looks good but there are a few things a buyer should be aware of. The bull bar mounting holes are slotted and huge. If you use the 3/8" bolts that come with it the bar can move in the slots and smash into your bumper if you snag something with your skid plate (even brush because it happened to me). I ended up removing the 3/8" bolts and one at a time and drilling them out to 5/8" and replacing each bolt with 5/8" bolts washers etc. This made it impossible to move in the slot and contact my bumper. With this easy modification the bull bar looks and works great. The instructions are all but useless but with common sense you can figure out the mounting easy enough.

I was impressed with the overall quality of the Big Tex Grill Guard. I liked that the main portion of the grill came already together. The chrome finish looks to be top rate. The mounting brackets and hardware were also sturdy and well thought out. The grill mounted to existing bolt holes and is the sturdiest installation I have seen.I was initially attracted to the Big Tex because of its' tube diameter of nearly 2". I needed something that would fit well with my F250. It looks awesome on my truck.I would say that I would definitely recommend to anyone asking, but once they see it, it speaks for itself.David (very satisfied customer)

I bought this in April and have waited to review it so I can test it properly, and let me tell you, this is a great guard. The assembly was quite easy and I did not have to modify my truck at all. No cutting or drilling was involved, all I had to do was remove some bolts put the new supplied brackets on and have someone hold it while I bolt it on.It’s super sturdy and it looks great. There are pieces of rubber on the front for pushing cars and whatnot. And it looks great, nice and formidable, just how it should be. However, the price was a little high but I called them up and they were having a special so I got it for a little cheaper, you should do the same usually there’s always something going on.
