AMP Research BedStep Retractable Tailgate Step Reviews

Good product.

Just used it to get into the back of my truck to shovel out snow. Being a 4x4 it's six inches higher than my previous truck so it made getting into the bed much easier. Though it appears to be rugged and well made I don't really see why these steps are so expensive. I did have to adjust my exhaust tips up about a half inch to clear the step when it retracts on it's spring. Just hoping that the tips don't burn my plastic bumper as the clearance has been reduced from one to a half inch.

To bad Toyota doesn't have a built in bumper step, but they do have an after market step, and it looks and works just like this. Step works well and cheaper holiday purchase at Auto anything.

Functions as expected

Reviewed By William A (CHESAPEAKE, VA) Reviewed for a 2010 Ford F-150 —11/17/2016 4:05 AM

Bought the version for use with the truckbed tent or work in the truckbed on a Ford F-150 where it does have to clear the spare tire. It came assembled and mounts to the hitch as expected. Extension and retraction works as expected. Folding the step up and down is a little weird but it does hold your weight when the step is down.
