If my husband didn't have the right tools and the knowledge the tailgate would not latch very solid, but, since he did the tailgate fits fine.

I was excited to install the new tailgate. It's appearance was what I expected. Installation was a bit more intriguing. The latching mechinisim on the new tailgate did not align with the pins on the body of the truck. Upon close examination I could see the mechinisim on the new tail gate was bolted on with three bolts. The factory had put 4 spacer washers between the latching mechinism and the body of the tailgate. There were not enough spacers to properly align with the locking pin on the truck body. In other words it wouldn't close until I figured out more spacers were needed. Not something I would expect from a manufacturer that is supposed to produce superior products. It appeared that the latching mechinism was installed with a slanted bias because of improper spacers (not enough).

The Husky 5th wheel tailgate is a good product but some refining could make the product excellent. The tailgate top should be little taller to be able to seal the gap between a tonneu cover as a stock tailgate does and a block off for the V in the gate should be offered in order to secure contents in the truck bed. I was disappointed that the gate had about a little over an inch gap between it and my hard folding tonneau cover, if it would have been made as tall as the stock tailgate it would have made a sweet looking job. The lack of an option for a block of the V in the gate makes it vulnerable to have contents in you bed stolen. Most people that run a 5th wheel use a tonneau cover (either soft roll up or hard folding type) to protect their bed's contents. The service from AutoAnything was excellent and packaging of the gate was excellent, tailgate arrived flawless.

The appearance, quality, and fit are excellent. It is a nuisance, however, that the Ford factory bushings on the tailgate latch have to be removed and replaced with rubber sleeves. This will be a hassle every time I want to change between the 5th wheel tailgate and the factory tailgate.

The Husky Liners 5th Wheelgate arrived right on time & was very easy to install. The fit was perfect on my 2007 new body style Chevy pickup. It looks great & seems to be very fine quality. Wilbur C

I'm really glad I got the Husky Liners 5th Wheel Tailgate for my 2009 Ford i50. Main reason was that original Ford tailgate made rear vision difficult and in some cases impossible. The Husky Liners solved the problem. Now I can SEE when I back up and everything behind my truck. Did have to remove some metal to fit where the tailgate connects to bed of truck, but other than that, easy installation.

The passanger side cup that fits over the box stud is to big rattles. There is no hole filler from the 51/6 " bolt to the 9/16 hole in the tailgate support cable very sloppy. Geno.

product was well built with attention to welding. Installation was simple and after a small adjustment that was called for, works great and very striking appears.
